How's your Stromer Battery holding up?

One improvement Stromer can make in the future is for the BMS to better linearize the SOC readout. You and I shouldn't have to be consulting lithium discharge curves to understand how much energy we have left in our battery. The computer should do that work for us. I was disappointed the...

    Stromer ST8 Wishlist

Unfortunately there isn't enough energy coming from the sun, much less conversion efficiency with the best panels today, to make solar charging practical. Unless you were imagining a card table-sized panel hanging off the back of your bike...

Taking ST1 on 7 day trip--Hitch-Mount Rack and Rain?

I've carried my ST1 on the back of my RV for about 6,000 miles over the past year (on a Kuat rack, coincidentally). At the beginning I fooled with one of those flimsy bags, but honestly it just tears up and makes a mess. I've had zero issues with the ST1. I keep the battery compartment...

2015 Stromer ST1 Torque Sensor Issues?

Did you turn the bike off and back on when you encountered the problem? I've had something kind of like this a few times if I'm accidentally putting a little torque on the crank when it boots up. The computer takes an initial reading to zero the strain gauge.

Using the manual regenerative braking feature

Unfortunately, even a 10x improvement on ST1 won't come close to providing what OP was hoping for (and what the marketing likes to suggest). I would love to see some rough numbers from anyone who's tried a serious climb and regen, but I'm betting it'll come in at a 10% total return (or less).

Using the manual regenerative braking feature

You'll not get anywhere close to full regen on any electric vehicle. First, the conversion efficiency in both directions is about 80% in the best systems. To make a full loop -- from energy stored in your battery, to motion, to putting the energy back in the battery, you need to square that...

    No power -- any ideas?

Yeah, just popped on the battery one day and it wouldn't go anymore. Definitely exposed to plenty of rain over time traveling on my bike rack, but never submerged. The tech said they basically don't let them do any teardowns or actual analysis on the internals, but rather they just treat the...

    No power -- any ideas?

Just a follow-up on this. After diagnosis at the shop, it appears the motor is shot. They'll swap in a new motor and possibly a pack, too.

Must Buy accessories Items for ST1

Max range on POWER is still heavily dependent on how fast you ride, because of wind resistance. I get about 15 to 18 miles averaging 22-24mph on POWER on fairly flat terrain, after 200 charge cycles, with the tires towards the low end of the inflation range, and I weigh 145lb.

    Metallic Vibration

My wife's comfort cruiser is doing the same thing. It seems excessive and really calls attention to the bike. It will also make the noise when throttling hard from a slow speed up to a high speed. Basically any time it's trying to deliver max torque. Could there be a way to set it to ramp...

    No power -- any ideas?

Welp, no dice. After further debugging and time on the phone with the nice folks at MaguraDirect, who provide all of the USA service for all Bosch drivetrains, it sounds like it needs to go in. They have a tool that can pull diagnostics out of the motor to help figure out what went wrong.

Hmm, interesting. Okay, I'll give that a shot tomorrow and see if it helps!

    No power -- any ideas?

Hey all, I'm stuck on 4th of July weekend with a Felt that won't power up. The battery has a full charge as indicated by its LEDs. It seems to be mating correctly to the socket. I don't see any corrosion or bent blades or anything. The Intuvia display has leftover power in its rechargeable...

Cost-Benefit Comparison: Google SpreadSheet for eBikes

I come here to read and engage with others. This is a low-volume forum with (mostly) important content that I want to read, since my family rides three new e-bikes from three different manufacturers almost every day, snow or shine. Your posts are interesting, until there are more of them than...

Haibike xduro fs 29 vs Felt Nine e

This is the one I bought: https://www.badassebikes.com/en/a-106/. It works great.

Definitely. You may just have to negotiate. You can do much better than that on price. You may be able to get a city kit and shipping at a price that starts with a "2"...

I hear ya, I also am going the two-bike route. ST1 for the commuting around town and NINEe for the trails/goofing off. I also find I am hard on bikes in general, and I wanted a backup so I have a reliable way to commute every day. I slogged the ST1 through some sketchy, muddy...

Haibike xduro fs 29 vs Felt Nine e

Great thread, because I had the opposite question: my dealer had the Haibikes to ride but not the Felts! But they just became a Felt dealer, and I loved the Haibike 29er, so I ordered the Felt. (For not much more dough, I might add.) I already have an ST1, but I really like the way the...

I've ridden the ST2 and ST1 back to back several times on some extended city rides. My take is that the ST1 is the way better buy for the money. Most of the fancy-pants ST2 features are of questionable value. The ST2 does have a tiny bit more aggressive torque band and a smoother controller...

    Better Kickstand?

Did you ever find a better kickstand for your Stromer? I'd like one with a more substantial foot, like the Pedego's and other heavy bikes have. I've already had my Stromer careen over once on soft terrain when the really thin kickstand just dug in too far.
