    AM1000V6 or CC

Yes the Beast is comfortable on pavement. I commute to work in the CBD on it and ride on paved bike paths on weekends. You can cover a lot of ground fairly effortlessly on this bike. I am 55 years of age and don’t get neck, back or ass soreness after riding it. This bike insights link shows the...

Watt Wagons Critical Product Availability Status

A 60 volt battery charges to 67.2 volts and doesn’t hit 60 volts until it is circa 62% of its charge. So the battery is putting out in excess of 60 volts for a good deal of its charge. Frey quotes 1800w peak on its website. https://frey.bike/products/voyager-ex-beast In any case, I mainly...

Watt Wagons Critical Product Availability Status

Bafang makes a 60volt max 1800 watt Ultra as used in the Frey Beast which I have. It is Canbus. .

    AM1000V6 or CC

My Beast came with 5 spacer shims (2 inches) under the handlebar stem, so I certainly don’t feel hunched over. On the contrary, I find myself bending my elbows to drop my body down lower at higher speeds. Of course I could rearrange the shims to drop the bars lower but find the factory setup...

    AM1000V6 or CC

I have the bigger brother “Beast“ and ride it on the pavement. Only downside is the tyre noise at lower speeds - can always change tyres. At higher speeds the wind noise drowns out all other noise. More gears means you are rifling through the gears, although I usually double or triple shift to...

Me too considering 1000 w bafang 620 motor on a full suspension fat tire. Opinions wanted on Frey Biktrix. Quiet kat Nikeera

Can’t specially comment on the bikes you’re looking at, but I have the Frey Beast. Frey builds a great dual sus bike and you obviously won’t be disappointed with the power of the Ultra motor. The air folks are plush, but the fork specs are probably different on the bikes you’re looking at. I...

Bent hanger / bent derailleur / something else?

The upgrade kit is for replacing an existing cable Eagle GX 12 speed with this wireless version. So no nothing else required in this instance. One thing that I would like to see is shift tuning of individual cogs which this doesn’t have.

    Unboxing and assembling

I didn’t lay the box on its side because the box had to be oriented upwards per the arrows on the box - and I didn’t want to be causing any damage when unboxing by dragging the bike out sideways. Easy enough to tape the side of a box back up as it is for the top of the box - if required.

I just cut the side out for access and assembly.

    2022 - Top 12 Bafang Ultra M620 Ebikes

It’s difficult to know of the relative differences and whether the custom 60v version that I have is another beast altogether (pardon the pun). It might also depend on how people are using their bikes. For instance, I wouldn’t use sport mode pas level 5 when crossing a road through traffic in...

    2022 - Top 12 Bafang Ultra M620 Ebikes

I have the Frey Beast with the 60v canbus motor. Prior to buying I was a bit sceptical about its manners judging by the comments about owners of the uart version. In all honesty, I’m very happy with the way it is tuned which is smooth and fast. With the badass battery capacity you can cover a...

2023 - Our Rides in Words, Photos, Maps and Videos

Another bike ride with the wife around part of the river today …..circa 22 klms……glorious winters day again. The path was undulating with the first pic at our highest point above the river. In the distance is our city with the Optus Stadium (3rd largest capacity in Australia) to the right just...

Is it safe to freely use the throttle WHILE PEDALING on a mid drive?

All Strava data is stored on Stefan Mikes cloud server 😎. If it’s not on his Strava server it never happened 😜.

Is it safe to freely use the throttle WHILE PEDALING on a mid drive?

I have ridden everyday this week except one when we had thunderstorms. Four days on an hired acoustic bike whilst holidaying, one day on my e hardtail and two days on my eMTB. Unfortunately, being a business owner, I dont have the luxury of time that you have and try to incorporate my cycling...

2023 - Our Rides in Words, Photos, Maps and Videos

Few pics from todays ride along the river with my wife. Our city in the background of the last pic. Perfect winters day for riding and we ended up doing a round trip of circa 28klms.

You also could have done it on an acoustic bike……i suspect perhaps not 😎.

Is it safe to freely use the throttle WHILE PEDALING on a mid drive?

Faster acceleration and higher speeds going up hills. Frey advised me using the throttle contributes 1500 to 1800 watts so it does help 😉. To be honest, I have very rarely use it - more so out of curiosity at higher speeds, and I have never used it from standstill. I have two e-bikes. One with...
