Thinking strongly about ordering the CCX

I’ve had my original Cross Current for 2 1/2 years and recently upgraded it to the CCS controller. You might want to go down to SD and take one for a long test drive. I have a road cycling background and I think that my next e-bike will be a mid-drive. They leverage the motor power through the...

Some CCX vs Old CC Observations

How about the extra power? That’s what we want to hear about :) Are you seeing it peak at 1250-1300W on the display? I think Juiced tried the 10-sp upgraded derailleur/shifter option on the Cross Current S and there probably weren’t enough takers to justify the logistics that were involved on...

    CCX intermittent power

If you PM me your e-mail address I can forward you the e-mail that support sent me.

Does rain/moisture affect the torque sensor?

Power shouldn’t cut out if you are pedaling continuously. Sometimes if you stop pedaling for a fraction of a second, and start up again suddenly, I believe you can beat the torque sensors zero’ing algorithm. Sometimes that happens to me and it feels like I’ve lost assist. I have to pedal...

    CCX controller upgrade?

Supposedly the 2019 RCS will get the 25A controller. But I believe the controller they sell on the website is the 2018 version. The peak power is listed on the controller so if it lists that at 20A you’re not getting the extra 5A of power of the CCX.

    CCX intermittent power

I had the same issue when I got the 17.4ah battery for my original Cross Current. Originally with the smaller 7.8 and 10.4ah batteries I never had any connection issues. What fixed it for me was shimming the battery enclosure with Velcro as Juiced Bikes suggested. However, it lasts about 6 months...

    Service and delivery problems: Solved?

Same experience here. It seems to take about two weeks to get parts shipped out. I usually wait a week after the order, e-mail them and then a few days later I get a shipment notification. My latest support experience was so-so. It seems like they wanted me to buy a 1-4 wiring harness to attempt...

First (ever?) Commute on a Crosscurrent X.

How much higher have you seen it go? Juiced advertises around 1250-1300 watts peak. I’m seeing around 1050-1100w peak on my CC with the CCS controller installed and that’s only @ 48V with an 80% charge. Since the battery voltage is reading high on the display I suspect that number is inflated by...

Known Issues & Problems with Juiced Bikes Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

Update, didn’t get the most confident response from Juiced support. They suggested I replace the 1-4 cable so I ordered one. I hope that works and isn’t just throwing money at the issue. Bike is so fast now that I’m having trouble getting a workout lol.

Cross Current S LCD Display + Controller Upgrade for original Cross Current

I got the Cross Current S controller and LCD display installed on my 2 1/2 year old Cross Current. Bike is a real beast with ~50% more peak power (13 to 20 amps peak). It’s so much easier to cruise at 28mph now. I have a 17.4aH battery but I’ve been using my 10.4aH battery lately and burned...

Known Issues & Problems with Juiced Bikes Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

So I upgraded my original Cross Current with the CCS controller and LCD display last night. The bike definitely feels more powerful. However, I’m having an issue with the LCD display voltage reading high (over 60V with a 48V battery) and the bike always gives me 100% power regardless of which...

    The Rise of Electric Scooters.

I only have experience using the four brands of ride share scooters here. The Lime ones feel more refined to me. They used to be faster too but I think regulators capped them at 17.5mph around here. It looks like Lime uses the Segway ES4. I think Luna makes some crazier ones. Ideal max speed...

    The Rise of Electric Scooters.

I live in Santa Monica where it all started. I am a fan of them. They are so much more convenient in an urban setting where finding parking often takes longer than the actual errand you were running in the first place. Jump (Uber) also has electric bikes here too which are better for longer...

Original Crosscurrent to CCS/CCX Medium Equals Large?

His post on reddit r/ebikes says 18k miles on his original Cross Current.

Original Crosscurrent to CCS/CCX Medium Equals Large?

I think the only difference is that they lowered the seat tube by 1” on the medium. I have a medium frame and having ridden the ST Cross Current (which also has a 16.5” seat tube) I don’t think there’s any meaningful change in geometry on the medium frame. Are you planning to get a CCX...

First (ever?) Commute on a Crosscurrent X.

They don’t sell the CCX controller yet. My guess is it will be six months or more before it’s available. Plus, the official word from Juiced is that it won’t work in the CC/CCS. I have a feeling they mean “not advisable” rather than it won’t work for a technical reason. Until they’re available...

First (ever?) Commute on a Crosscurrent X.

Seems like it’s a beast. I could probably take the lane and keep up with auto traffic around here with the CCX in race mode. That would really cut down on travel time if I could hop on the main roads and cruise through green lights instead of dealing with stop signs at almost every intersection...

    Grin Satiator

One advantage of the Cycle Satiator is that, if you forget to charge your battery, you always have the option to fast charge it at 5A/8A (depending on the model.) That has saved me a few times. I also have some slower charge 60-75% charge profiles I use if I’m not in a hurry and don’t need the...

Going against the trend and changing my 9 speed from a wide ratio mtb cassette to a close ratio road bike cassette. (11-36 to 13-25)

I don’t think you need to swap out the derailleur if you already have 10-speed Deore rear derailleur. I run a 10 speed Deore RD with a 10 speed SRAM 12-28 cassette. SRAM and Shimano run the same gear spacing on their cassettes.
