I am a vaper, and most use 18650 batteries. I charge to 100% and discharge all the way, every day. They last years. No need to stress about the battery, just charge it and ride!

So glad you made it. I too have come upon sticky situations, and find the throttle is my friend. This is especially true at the end of a sprint and I don’t have the energy to get out with peddling alone.

Agree with Asher. The hybrid pedals came with my Catrike, but I got a straight clipless set instead. Much better for me.

@ebikemom so true! I rode my bike to community college, and work at Pizza Hut. I got off work at 11PM. I was highly motivated to ride hard and fast, otherwise I couldn’t see the road! Fun times!

Great advice from ebikemom, worth checking into. There are many bikes with 2” plus tires in your price range, including my Magnum. Without the battery it’s about 47 lbs. the weight is the issue as most any bike with 2”+ tires are going to be fine in gravel.

I saw the other thread, checked mine and it’s good. I appreciate you posting because even though I do a weekly screw check on my bike, I never thought of checking the battery mount. I do now. Got over 1,100 miles on mine in a little over 2 months. So far all good.

The way it transfers power to the wheel, reminds me of the little generator lights I used on my bike in the ‘70’s. Good stuff!

Good stuff metroduck! Looks and sounds like a good ride. I am still amazed at the range of these Magnums. One of my hesitations of buying an eBike was range anxiety. Now I ride with confidence knowing I got 60+ miles if I want it.
