Cold weather - almost didn't make it back!

I am a vaper, and most use 18650 batteries. I charge to 100% and discharge all the way, every day. They last years. No need to stress about the battery, just charge it and ride!

    Safety with E Bikes

So glad you made it. I too have come upon sticky situations, and find the throttle is my friend. This is especially true at the end of a sprint and I don’t have the energy to get out with peddling alone.

    Riding barefoot

I hate shoes. If it were not for broken glass, thorns and other road nasties I would gladly leave the shoes at home.

Causes for spokes coming off? 2-week old Magnum Metro+

Sounds to me like the bike was not set up properly by the dealer. If it were me I would force the issue with the dealer. With my Magnum the dealer had a 30 day return policy. If something like what you describe happened I would have returned it. Unless you ran over something that flew up into...

How Many Have Received Fines for Class 3?

So in answer to the threads question, no one has received a fine. There is no enforcement.

    Speed Wobble,,,Concerned?

Jerry LM said “I wouldn't buy a bike that demonstrates a characteristic like this period.” I agree you shouldn’t buy one. Get and ride what YOU like. I am enjoying my step-thru, and racking up the miles. No issues, and would not hesitate to buy another one.

13,000 mile review of Volton Alation 500

Great write up Joe! I hope to get that kind of use out of my eBike. Depending on weather, I tend to ride 4-5 hundred miles a month. I hope my bike holds up as well as yours.

    Electra?

Welcome! Different forums tend to attract different styles. One I read, tells you the answer is to build your own, no matter what question you ask. Another leans more to the mega watt, high speed, who cares about the law folks. EBR has more folks on it who have bought their eBike online. So you...

Flat pedals to clipless pedals and then back to flat pedals.

Agree with Asher. The hybrid pedals came with my Catrike, but I got a straight clipless set instead. Much better for me.

    Simple, Inexpensive E-bike conversion

@ebikemom so true! I rode my bike to community college, and work at Pizza Hut. I got off work at 11PM. I was highly motivated to ride hard and fast, otherwise I couldn’t see the road! Fun times!

Step-thru light bike able to handle gravel?

Great advice from ebikemom, worth checking into. There are many bikes with 2” plus tires in your price range, including my Magnum. Without the battery it’s about 47 lbs. the weight is the issue as most any bike with 2”+ tires are going to be fine in gravel.

My first ride on a power assisted bicycle.

What fun! I marvel that he doesn’t tried to ride it.

Upper battery mount - missing screw and cracked

I saw the other thread, checked mine and it’s good. I appreciate you posting because even though I do a weekly screw check on my bike, I never thought of checking the battery mount. I do now. Got over 1,100 miles on mine in a little over 2 months. So far all good.

    Simple, Inexpensive E-bike conversion

The way it transfers power to the wheel, reminds me of the little generator lights I used on my bike in the ‘70’s. Good stuff!

    Mounting and dismounting

I got a step through simply because it is easier. I like the look of the diamond frame, but for practicallys sake I ride a step through. I am also odd I guess because when I come to a stop, I like to slide off the saddle, and stand over the bike with both feet firmly on the ground. It’s just...

Flat pedals to clipless pedals and then back to flat pedals.

I use clipless on my recumbent trike because of leg suck. It’s for safety, not speed or power gain. I see no reason to use them on a bike. I tried them briefly in my road bike days, peer pressure being the main reason. But, I’m independent minded enough to go back the platforms, as I could not...

Photos from Rail to Trails ride

Good stuff metroduck! Looks and sounds like a good ride. I am still amazed at the range of these Magnums. One of my hesitations of buying an eBike was range anxiety. Now I ride with confidence knowing I got 60+ miles if I want it.

@Mark Peralta - man that Metro+ looks nice! Cool idea with the mud flaps. The unintentional is what makes life interesting.
