    Brake confusion?

I had Avid ( I think) mechanical disc brakes on my Gary Fisher Utopia. They needed regular adjustment that is not needed on hydraulic. With a bit of patience they could be set very tight and I liked that riding in city traffic. I then switched to hydraulics. I was a fairly easy job with...

2020 : Our Rides in Words, Photos & Videos

I have some more like that but I’ll spare you😊 It’s been a while since I saw a post from Norway. I guess they’re busy riding their bikes. I had dream. and a plan, for a trip to Norway this summer. The idea was to rent a small van just big enough to take my Vado and then go to Norway, stay a few...

    Como vs Vado- HELP!

I had the LBS replace it before delivery of my new bike in April last year. I had 40t on my previous Vado 4 so I was sure that’s how I wanted it. It works fine for me even if my bike now goes 28-29kph before motor cuts off.

    Como vs Vado- HELP!

The 48t chain ring is absolutely right for the 28mph Vados. I too appreciate the Vado 5 stability even if I don’t reach 28mph. Mine is a EU 15.5mph bike. Don’t think I’ve been over 25mph going downhill. I have a feeling that Specialized didn’t plan to sell Vados with 1.2 motors as 28mph bikes...

    Como vs Vado- HELP!

This is just my thinking, far from a verified fact. Maybe there is a 44 tooth alternative from Specialized now. The new Vado SL has 44 tooth crank wheel that resembles the standard Vado crank parts. First pic, standard Vado( from Specialized concept store UK. Couldn’t reach specialized.com US...

    Chain ring tooth selection

Good to hear you finally got the tools you wanted and could ”adjust” your Vado to your liking. I think it was a good decision to choose 44 tooth (over 48) on a bike restricted to 25kph.

Ok, I may have been complaining a little about low temperatures for pleasant cycling during month of May this year but ... ... for some it’s apparently not cold enough. Shot this afternoon just outside my home. I was on my way to help best friends daughter to put a frame lock on her new...

Australia is strange. Feels like I would go backwards to get there but I would end up in the future. A flat earth would be easier to understand :D

2020 : Our Rides in Words, Photos & Videos

Not too inviting weather this afternoon but it wasn’t raining and temperature was around 11-12°C (53°F) so I filled up the battery a little bit and went for a ride. Some sort of exercise every day is my rule nowadays. 34km today. No fantastic photos but I had a nice time. 7.5km (4.5miles) was...

Thank you for posting that. My grandfather had Model A. I have not seen it but my father told me about it. My father, born 1904, got his driving license circa 1925 and then taught my grandfather how to drive a car. Now I got inspiration to plan a ride to go and have a look at my grandparents...

@jabberwocky Now listen carefully. With the surroundings you’re showing us in post above I strongly suggest you only work during days when weather is really really bad. Other days are for cycling and now and then report back to us with photos. ok? :)

Managed to squeeze in an afternoon ride between a video meeting at noon with an economist explaining our annual financial report and an evening meeting with the board of our housing cooperative. Rode by a garden centre I often visit in the summer. There is a restaurant and café that attracts me...

    Specialized’s ultra-light 120-mile range e-bike - Turbo Vado SL

This could be a fun experience. I think I’ll ask for a test ride when the bikes show up in Sweden. Would be even more interesting if we had a 20mph class in EU instead of the 15.5mph(25kph)

Clicking from hub on Vado 4.0

Had a similar problem with my 2018 Vado 4, bought new July 2018. Unfortunately I don’t know what the exact cause was but here’s my story. A week or about 130 -140 miles after pickicking my new bike there was a clicking sound for a second or two after I stopped pedalling. Not when pedalling as...

Today me and my Vado 5.0 are celebrating our first anniversary. It’s not really a good day for riding ( 6-7°C) so I’ll take walk today to get some exercise. I picked up my new bike late afternoon April 30th 2019 and was happy to now have the largest battery, the new display with Mission Control...

    Chain ring tooth selection

That’s right, I haven’t confirmed in the way that I’ve shown how to do it. Sorry to disappiont you but I don’t like to take apart things that are working well. Still, by looking at it I would not think there is a need to remove the crank. @bellandbottle may prove me wrong when he gets all parts...
