Court's review of 2015 EVO Street is now available

It varies A LOT on how you ride it and the terrain you're on. You could burn it all in a few miles if you really pushed it. But I went about eight miles last weekend with zero drop in the battery percent by using it basically as an unpowered bike except for hitting the throttle sparingly on...

You also might check the outlet you're using. I had an issue with one of my outlets being bad (too loose to make good contact) and it wouldn't charge. I thought it was the bike or charger for a little while until I figured it out.

I read somewhere that it's supposed to be 80% power after 2 hours and 100% after 4. Don't remember where I read that, though. Probably a manual, but I'm not sure. Anyway, I haven't timed it, but 4 hours does seem about right for mine. (I have an EVO City.) Good luck with your new bike...

    My New EVO City

Well, I know it needs to be straightened up somehow, but whatever hubby did will get me through the week. Probably does need to go to a bike shop after that, though. If nothing else, it's still making a loose spoke noise (but MUCH less than before). What I wonder is if it were there when it...

    My New EVO City

Found a really, really lose spoke on the rear wheel yesterday. Tightened that up and some other less severely loose spokes. I had read that lose spokes were something rear hub ebikes were prone to. I'll have to keep an eye on it and invest in a good spoke wrench to do it properly in the...

    Evo Snow?

I remember watching a video for a front-drive hub motor ebike (before the rear-drive became the norm) and they were bragging that with the front hub motor you essentially had all wheel drive. The motor on the front and your pedal-power in the back. And they were bragging on how great this is...

    evo snow

My controller has the settings for the Snow, even though it's actually an EVO City. Both models use the same controller. So, based on that, it looks like the snow can be set for "front", "rear", "all", or "eco". The first three are self-apparent. Not sure what the "eco" does.

Never mind. I found this: http://www.emotionbikesusa.com/docs/EVO DISPLAY PANEL_REVIEW.pdf So (I think) that problem's solved. :) That means that any place here where I previously mentioned my speed or mileage was actually wrong. I'll have to reset my trip at my next recharge and figure...

How do I do that? Mine are the larger wheels. But I don't know how to change that with the controller. It actually does seem like the miles match what it would be with the wrong size wheels.

    My New EVO City

Today the family and I went on a ride on the local bike trails. My odometer reported I'd gone 14.1 miles. When I plugged the route into Google, it said it was only 11 miles. So, apparently the odometer's not all that accurate. I mean, still a good estimate for actual mileage. But it's got a...

    KICK STAND ?

stevenast: The question is, how many people who own mountain bikes are "regular mtb riders" who actually go off-road with it. I know a lot of moms who bike with their kids to school or put them in kid trailers. And lots of them have mountain bikes. Those moms aren't going off-road much...

    KICK STAND ?

You are assuming that we're talking about high-end bikes. A lot of bikes are kids bikes or adult bikes bought for more casual riders (even if they're road- or mountain-style bikes). Riders might not want to scratch up their bikes or knock their accessories around by leaning it or laying it...

You could also just use a couple of big conduit clamps on a regular bottle cage. Easy find in the electrical section of the hardware store.

My cage is mounted to the handlebars using a Bontrager Handlebar Bottle Cage Clamp. My local bike shop had it in stock. Here's a link: http://www.bontrager.com/model/04087

I have noticed there is a minor problem with whatever it is that senses your pedaling in order to turn on the motor. On the third level of pedal assist, I can get the motor to just stay on, without moving the pedals at all. Just coasting with the motor on. It's not a big deal. If I want it...

Got my springy Schwinn seat and new seat post, water bottle cage, and a double kickstand on it now. :)

    KICK STAND ?

I just put a double kickstand on mine. :) It seems to me that there are some really snobby bike people out there. Which is awful because, when they act like that, they are discouraging average people from taking up biking. They're also contributing to the image of bicyclists as rude...

On the handbars as close to the middle as I could get it and still be able to operate the thing to adjust the handlebar. I'll post an updated picture once I get the double-kickstand on. Maybe this weekend.

My 2015 EVO Street Has Arrived!

Yup, big feet. Size 9. Goes with the height. :) Sorry if I came off as confrontational, that wasn't my intention. Perhaps different bike stores give different advice on how a bike should fit, and we each received advice based on two different approaches. :)

My 2015 EVO Street Has Arrived!

Oh, okay. That sounds like you've got the right frame then. I just noticed that it can be a problem for taller people like me. I'm basing that on what I've been told by bike shops fitting me and my kids. At least for upright-style bikes. Maybe it's different for road bikes and racing...
