    CCX Accident

I'm sorry to hear of your injuries and I hope you recover from them soon. Just a question: If you were traveling at 12mph on a "tar and chipped road with no potholes or loose gravel", then why did you use the front brake??? The only time I ever went over the handlebars of ANY bike I was 16 years...

    How To Judge Quality

I have built nearly a dozen rear hub bikes for friends and family over the past 4-5 years, with as crappy frames as you can possibly imagine. If a bike frame can carry a 200 lb person, then that frame will outlive a legal(750w) rear hub weight add-on (and I'm not talking doing crazy stunts on a...

    How To Judge Quality

Sure they can fail. But not because of a 750W hub motor. All the bikes in your video are MTB regular bikes putting stress on the frame by how they are ridden, not because of a 750W hub motor.

How struggling can it be to lift a 60lbs eBike to the 3rd floor?

Carbo looks good too at only 12.9Kg (28.5lbs) https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/carbo-the-world-s-lightest-folding-electric-bike/

    How To Judge Quality

Make sure you make the search legal first with "ebike 750W frame failure". Good luck.

    How To Judge Quality

Just pointing out that a hub motor all it needs is a strong wheel. Any crappy frame will do.

And torque arms are expensive or "unique" how???? That's like saying, "you also need a bolt" :) https://www.ebay.com/itm/EBikeling-Universal-Torque-Arm-for-Electric-Bicycle-ebike/362469942655

    How To Judge Quality

That is still a $2400 ebike so I'm sure Luna Cycle didn't pick any $200-400 frame to build this one. BTW, hub bikes all they need is a strong spoke wheel build around the hub.

How struggling can it be to lift a 60lbs eBike to the 3rd floor?

I know I'm late by 3 years o_O and I don't know if you bit the bullet, but here are my 3 year old thoughts...I don't know how long it will take you going up and down 3 floors, but eventually you will regret it big time. It may even cause you to pull a muscle or hurt your knees. And the RadRover...

    How To Judge Quality

Mid drive motors require special consideration on frame and drivetrain mechanics. Sure you can retrofit one on a regular bike but it won't last very long.

    New RAD Pricing!

I asked cause AFAIK I don't think any of the Bafang rear hub bikes and their controllers and LCD displays show RPM (I've tried 4 different LCD displays and they don't show RPM). Yet all of them have a cadence sensor. So I don't know why they don't bring that out in the LCD like my wife's Haibike...

    New RAD Pricing!

So since it has a cadence sensor, does a juice bike show RPM on the LCD display? If not, why not?

    How To Judge Quality

My own prediction looking 5 years down the line: Total weight 25lb or less carbon mid drive ebikes with speeds 28+ mph and 100+ mile range at less than $2500 list price with top level components (non Di2). Can't wait.

    How To Judge Quality

That DIY mid drive install won't last 100 miles.... lol

    How To Judge Quality

I just didn't want him to compare apples to oranges price wise. Price wise there is a big difference between mid drive bikes and rear hub drives. Trek and Specialized (or Haibike or any of the other top brands) are mid drive ebikes, while Volt and Spark (or RadPower etc..) are rear hub ebikes...

    How To Judge Quality

Are you comparing mid drive bikes to rear hub bikes or rear hub bikes to only rear hub bikes?

    yamaha battery 500wh range

My wife's Haibike Sduro Radius with Yamaha PW motor and Yamaha 500Wh battery gets 50 miles range on standard mode at about 18-19 mph average speed with 1 bar left on the display. I know cause we do the same 25 miles every time (12.5miles in one direction and 12.5miles in exact same but opposite...

Class 3 commuter, 30 miles, fairly flat

Here is a FULL suspension folding fat tire ebike (in 5 colors) on indiegogo that is currently shipping to the early people who ordered it (and they have raised about 12,000 orders with $16 million pledged; BTW this is the most successful indiegogo ebike in their history) with up to 50mile range...

    Life span of an eBike

Yamaha warrants their ebikes for a full 3 years no matter the miles, including the battery, the motor assembly, housing cover, internal gears, motor control unit assembly, drive axle assembly, and torque sensor assembly, rigid frame, and rigid front fork . What that means, at least to me, is...

    Yamaha Ebike Motor RPM Support

Are you saying the International Journal of Sports Medicine is misleading? So do you have any better evidence, other than just your word, to prove it?
