    Smart Bike trainer

I remember the last time I used a bike trainer was over 30 years ago. It had a little flywheel on the back with the rear wheel sitting on a cylinder while you clamped the front forks to the trainer frame. I don't ride as much as I used to; may a century ride every few weeks over the weekend...

    BBSHD Controller Burnt Out?

So the display comes up with no error codes? If there was a controller problem, you would have gotten error 12 Unplug the brake connectors, pas, and throttle. Then just connect the display + throttle only w/o brake connectors attached. Make sure that works and that in case the brake...

    BBSHD Controller Burnt Out?

Unless you are running it at 50 or 60 amps, I find it unlikely you burned out the controller. I've had my BBSHD shut down and not start up in the past. When it did start, it would randomly shutdown. For me, this happened when I was using PAS and throttle to tow my trailer. I read that...

    I want a FAST eBike

I think the cheapest way to just get speed may be to just purchase a Cyclone 3000. Run that at 40 amps and connect to a quality 52v controller. https://lunacycle.com/cyclone-mid-drive-3000w-planetary-kit/ You can also achieve your goal with a BBS02. My folding bike has 20 inch wheels, 52t...

Wanted: Lightweight (less than 20kg), high Torque (90NM), Motor offering large amount of power 500w+, removable large battery

With a BBS02 kit + road bike, I'm sure you can easily stay under the 20 kg limit. My retro fitted 1987 Bianchi is a steel frame bike that has a Bafang BBS02 connected to a 13 ah 48v battery. Previously it had carbon drop bars, Shimano 105 shift levers, and aero seat. That came in at 43 lbs...

Help choosing year-round commuter eBike for Wisconsin weather

Get what you like. If I'm doing winter riding, I'll pick the Rover over the Como everytime.

Giant NRS Comp (CF) small frame with Luna Wolf V2

Nice! What size frame is that? Can the battery be attached anywhere on the metal surface?

not happy with what i have

For me, its not worth getting another 8.8 ah battery. Low amp hour batteries take a lot more stress than larger batteries and will lose their charge a lot faster than say a 13ah. My 2016 Radwagon came a 11.6ah 48v Dolphin battery that was only giving me about 20 miles (in eco mode) after 3...

    Show your cockpit

I try to be gentle on the air horn on the trails. In the city its barely enough to get their attention. Before noon the display works great. When the sun is overhead, it's hard to see. I have to cup it with my hand to see clearly. I'll need to make some type of shade out of plastic. I...

Help! Converting a 2008 Gary Fisher HiFi Plus 29

If your going to use it for technical climbs, then definitely go mid-drive, otherwise its not as critical in my opinion. You might be able to get away with a slim 13 ah battery on the downtube where the water bottle bolts are. But having 2 small (4) ah batteries may be easier to attach. Then...

    Show your cockpit

From left to right. (1) front motor throttle (2) Left bar extender for long trips (3) Cup holder (mainly used to hold hand wipes when I stop to eat) (4) Power switch for front motor (5) Front left screen (front motor display) (6) Rear widescreen (review view camera powered by front motor...

I need an extension cable I think for display but not sure, what is this one called?

Far left (probably goes to wheel, looks like my Radwagon cable), one circled in red goes to speed sensor (to detect the magnet on the wheel), yellow face probably for shifter cut-off option, far right is for connecting to cable that fans out to the display, 2 brake levers, and throttle. The...

    Planning your route

I'll probably end up getting a GPS device and hopefully software that can handle trails. Google maps is terrible in terms of displaying your routes because it changes the route even if you don't want it to. It tries to find the shortest distance even if that route is far more dangerous.

    Planning your route

When I go riding on a route that I've never done before, I go through the route on google maps and take screenshots of any spots that may get lost on. Each screenshot is pasted into an editor as I move through the route. When I'm done, I print out the entire trip making notes by hand on any...

mid drives are not for everyone/throttles are fine

I rarely use the throttle and had removed them entirely on some of my ebikes. Previously, I used them to get going quickly when crossing an intersection. Since then, after blowing a controller trying to tow something too heavy, I just make sure I'm in a low gear instead. One day I was...

    all wheel drive Radwagon

So I did some testing on what kind of range I could get with a 17ah 52v battery for the front and rear motor. With the rear camera on all the time, connected to the rear battery, I was still able to get 73.6 miles on the rear hub drive. When the battery ran out in the rear, the front Bafang...

    BBSHD question Luna Cycle Kit

I have that kit but never used that extra thicker gauge connector. I'm guessing its for folks that want to program the unit to run at 40 amps and the regular 12 to 14 gauge wire can only handle up to 30 amps.

    I want a FAST eBike

I have a modified road bike converted to e-bike with a BBS02 kit. With a 52t front chainring and 14t in the rear, I can reach 35 mph with not much effort. You can probably stay within budget if you use a small battery. Its was an interesting exercise to try on the road, but I wouldn't ride...

    BBS02 on Bianchi road bike

I agree the tires to be wider. I was limited to what the frame could accept. The original tires were 700c x19mm. I was able to get 23mm tires at the bike shop but eventually moved up to 25mm. The widest tire the front can take is 28mm without rubbing up against the forks. The rear being 25...
