I have noticed that also the cables rub off the paint from the sides of the head tube. I was planning to put a small blob of sugru to the shifter lever to protect the frame but was too late. The red paint layer actually looks more like a hard plastic film rather than paint.

That seems close to what we in Finnish call "Russian blue". I really like the red tone they have but the paint chips off quite easily. For example, the gear shift lever metal part keeps knocking to the frame top tube and has already chipped the paint there.

Glad to be of assistance. I was actually "forced" to buy the XL because this was also one of those sweet deals you cannot pass by. I got a showroom bike with a rack and the guards for 2990€. It wasnt really completely showroom as it seemed the store owner had been using it for a bit more than...

Measuring from the front side of the seat tube to the back side of the handlebar attachment tube I got 61 cm. From the top of the hadle bar to ground it was 103 cm. Not necessarily extremely accurate but hope it helps.

    Commuter Log

I've also put on summer tires, even though there are still occasional snow storms. I still have my backup studded normal bike for the bad weathers. Today I almost fell because of some muddy crud from on the street side. The slicks have absolutely no traction on anything but dry asphalt.

Cant answer your question but I am 185cm (6 feet and some) and riding the Turbo XL frame without any problems. Still I am probably too short for this frame.

Am I crazy to consider an EV?

I guess most times you would be using low current overnight charging just to top up the battery when commuting for instance. Fast high power DC charging would be needed only when taking longer trips.

Oh yeah, the sound of those 8 cyliders firing up is something you wont get with i3. But then again, times are changing and that quad exhaust is starting to look oldfashioned. That said, the S65 engine has received a lot of design awards, none for being economical. Still, l love the ride.

Nissan uses Chademo, which should be pretty common. Tesla has proprietary charge port.

9 years ROI is pretty good. In my calculations, I was only able to get to about 15 yrs for a 10 kW system, but that's 60 deg north. How does your electricity company compensate for any e fed back to the network? Here they pay according to the electricity stock market price. I've been thinking...

    defunct

We have tram tracks as well. On top being slippery in winter and especially dangerous with studs, I add one more thing: The tracks have a groove which fits perfectly a bike tire. If you accidental ride into one, you almost certainly will fall. We have the agressive bus drivers too. If you ride...

Thanks for the info. Shimano could be an option indeed. There's also the XT and XTR series, dont really know how they differ. I read somewhere that the clutch is quite handy when taking the wheel out. How does one choose the cage length. SRAM at least comes in three different lengths, short...

Yes, to the inside and it happens about once in every 20 miles.

Local Police Cracks Down On E-Bikes, Is This The Solution?

I think Copenhagen is one of the best places for a biker I have seen. It has very clearly marked bikelanes, which are often separated from cars by being elevated. Sidewalk is still more elevated than the bikelane so the three groups don't disturb one another. In the morning it looks as if...

Already talked to him. His solution would be to either add a chain guide or put a narrow-wide chainring together with the Type 2 derailleur. For the latter solution, parts only are almost three hundred euros. I think I'll try taking a link or two out first. Edit: My chain behaves just as is...

Yeah, should probably try that first. The chain could be already stretched somewhat. Thanks for the tip.

It is in the Finnish site as well but nobody sells them here or at least has them in the shop.

I like the orange combined with grey. Looks like the guards are not matte or that's probably it is the photshop effect. Also the seat looks different. Front light does not seem to be Supernova. Pedals look narrower as well.

Again a chain drop today coming from work. Massive irritation. I came to a pretty steep speed bump at about 19 mph, gear 7 or something and not pedaling. Unlike Brambor, my experience is that the chain drops if I pedal when the chain is jumping, but I am not so sure about that anymore. Last week...
