Ha yeah there's no way that on the balance of forces a set of tires can make you go 25% faster! They just feel good on the road and make me want to ride harder. I always hated those Electraks.

I put Marathon Supreme 42-622 on mine and I run them at 75PSI. They are noticeably more efficient than the Specialized Electrak tires. They are also more expensive than wheels :-/

I broke a spoke in the front, and decided to build a new wheel for it. Got me thinking if anyone has built a wheel for the rear of this rig. Since the hub is so huge I'm not sure what my approach would be, how I would want the holes angled, or where I would get the spokes.

Mid drives are noisy and ugly. They'd have to be really efficient to make up for that.

That 622x50c looks hot but I have a 700c wheel. So what I'm hearing is sizes down to 700x38 should be no problem. I commute half on city streets and half on a groomed gravel trail, 30 miles a day. Puncture resistance is #1 for me, so I don't have to walk five miles to the end of the trail...

I changed my brake pads today, because they have always been loud. Surprisingly they were already worn to the limit (0.95mm) after only 1200km. I'm a bit surprised. Replaced 'em with Jagwire Pro X. Silent.

Well they said they couldn't diagnose the problem so I went to the shop and the bike immediately failed again, so they ran their diagnostic scan on it again and decided to replace the controller, which took a week to get delivered. Seems to work now, again.
