Updating my front forks to suspension forks...

OK maybe a little explanation...I already have a front motor hub. Now I was thinking about a front suspension. So what are the problems here. I can think of one. The twisting effect (torque) will effect the handling. Others??

Updating my front forks to suspension forks...

I looked at the Suntour site and emailed them. Asking if they have a product that is compatible with my Tern. The problem I see is there are no mounting points for my fenders and for my GRIN torque arm. I have a front HUB motor. In fact I don't see any products from any manufacturer to date...

Updating my front forks to suspension forks...

I have a disc brake already with the TERN...you are correct about the geometry and that's why I ask if someone had experience with this conversion.

Updating my front forks to suspension forks...

Hey, I was wondering has anyone updated their 20" Tern to front suspension forks. If you have could you please point me to a reliable brand?

Help Critique My Stealth e-bike Parts and Sellers Choices

Sounds like you just want a throttle then...you can always add the PAS system later (Pedal Assistant Sensor). Thats what I did. The PAS sensor was only a few bucks and quite easy to install. Just need a crank puller. I don't know what other Bafang controllers allow but I do know they allow a...

Help Critique My Stealth e-bike Parts and Sellers Choices

If you go with the GRIN product then one important item you must install...GRIN's torque arm kit. It is especially needed if this is a front hub motor and the forks are aluminum. Rear mount no concerns. I would go with the Cycle Analyst display. LCD is kinda crude but very readable on a...

How many kms have you done before replacing your battery?

OK no one really answered the question because either someone hasn't taken the time to record their final total mileage or just didn't care about it. So lets make a guess. If my 500 Wh battery can sustain 1000 recharges and go 60 kms (40 miles) per charge the I can expect to get 60000 kms...

It may actually be the bearings in the gear cluster....

Orbea Gain rear hub noise when freewheeling

I am going to assume that this is a "geared" hub. There were some issues with a GRIN Bafang G310 motor where the magnets actually became un-glued because of over heating the motor. Not your motor obviously but maybe this will give you some ideas of what's wrong You probably would hear a...

First Impressions, BMW Cruise ebike 2014 (compiled April 2015)

OK nice write but why do you quote the speed as mph and then the range in kms? Isn't UK in the metric system or is the Bosch display only indicating miles rather than kilometres. Being nick picky but in Canada that computes to 25.6 kms/hr which is a bit shy of the regulatory speed allowed for...

Bafang ebrake sensors w/ Shimano M315 brake levers?

Go to the GRIN technologies site Ebikes.ca...they have a video of the installation of brake sensors. http://www.ebikes.ca/product-info/tripwire.html

HELP W GIO FALCON ELECTRIC SCOOTER

OK it isn't an e-bike but a scooter...BTW the link to the URL doesn't work. It sounds like a short and that's the breaker that is protecting the electrical system. Be careful when you are trouble shooting a DC device and especially a high amperage one...like 10 to 15 amps. Its more deadly...

Anybody recommend a Front Hub Motor for 27.5 Salsa Blackborow?

That looks like an off road bike and maybe you should consider a rear mounted motor. Better weight distribution at the rear of the bike for traction. I would suggest going to Ebike.ca and looking around and maybe even contacting them with their recommendations. It maybe not the best because...

What Info are you looking for on a display???

Its not exactly what is "on" the display but what else can it do. I would like the display to allow a power source for my devices. A USB that is powered with 5 volts 1 or 2 amps so we can install our phones or GPS devices would be nice. A coloured LCD is not very good in bright sunlight but a...

    Spark RX 500w Bafang mid-drive 27.5” with Shimano Alivio , 17 Ah

OK looks like a quagmire of wiring and glued together with silicone. Can't see any signs of sparking and heating inside there so keep your fingers crossed then...good luck with it and keep us posted.

Did you remove the battery by any chance with power still on?? Maybe this is when it shorted.

    Blowing Fuses

I agree with your thinking....thats why you asked if the components for your setup are suitable for each other. Drawing too much current would blow a fuse but let me ask do you know if this is a slow blow fuse? I know that my setup has a 25A controller so I know this specification. Do you...

    Spark RX 500w Bafang mid-drive 27.5” with Shimano Alivio , 17 Ah

My feeling is you probably will get another failure so I would hope that you could get some answers. Maybe you should go to an electronics shop and spec out that fuse and its source. It would nice if you could post a couple of pictures...

    Spark RX 500w Bafang mid-drive 27.5” with Shimano Alivio , 17 Ah

So the question is why did it blow? You said that you removed the battery because you parked and took it with you. The question I would want answered is pretty simple. Is it possible that some how the terminals touched some metal or something conductive when you were transporting it? I would...

    B’TWIN Hoptown 500

That must be a European flight then...I thought airlines were quite adamant not to take on board any e-bike batteries. They have to be under 100 watts or small batteries like those with iPads, phones and other smaller electronics. I don't think this works in Canada or maybe even in the US.
