+1 on the Redshift suspension post. I have them on all 3 of my bikes. I've tried a dozen or more and this one is the best. I also use the Redshift shock stop suspension stem for wrist comfort.

I just bought a new NCX Suspension seat post.

My old one was starting to wear out (sloppy bushings), and I wanted to get the larger diameter seat post version thinking that it will be a bit stronger to help support my new Topeak Rack that mounts to the seatpost.

I couldn't justify buying the Redshift suspension seatpost at more than twice the price,..

I've still got my front and rear air suspension frame, and a spring seat with the gell cushion, to absorb any lack of damping that my NCX would have.
I have never been slapped in the ass, because I never get off my ass when I'm riding.

Yup. I like the good old days of "mushy" rides.

Just to clarify,..
I have a very soft ride, but it doesn't bounce like a pogo stick.
I've got very good control of my ebike, and can ride it through pot holes safely and comfortably while riding no-hands.

I have damping on my forks and shock that keep the bouncing under control, and I've never noticed any bouncing on my seat.

The only issue that I've found is when I go through multiple pot holes in a row, or a washboard gravel road.
My forks will "stack" and I get thrown forward.
That's the only time I need to grab the handlebars to keep myself from slipping off my seat and landing on my jewels on top of the battery.

If that were to happen, I'd end up in the fetal position and only crash because I lost control of myself, not my e-bike.

Yeah, the Redshift is pricey but in my case, it makes the difference between a 30 mile ride and a 70 mile ride.
May not be the same for others though. Less expensive posts may work just as well for others. YMMV.

great stuff, i havent heard of this company, ill have to look into the stem suspension, i definitely feel the shoulders at times when im riding longer, ive told a few people with an ebike since you are going faster you definitely hit the bumps a little harder.

Good price on the Redshift City, but it's only available for seat tube diameters of 30.9 and 31.6mm. Too large for a great many bikes.
Also, there is no optional boot to cover the suspension mechanism. This is critical for dusty or wet environments.

What do you mean by optional boot? it comes with a magnetic mud guard, are you referring to something else?

The mud guard doesn't keep out airborne dust & rain. You need something like this one used by Kinekt:

I guess I am confused, you seem to imply the city model doesn't have that, do you mean then that the endurance model does?
These 3rd party socks would work just as well on both models..
That being said, I am not using that and not having any issues, I live in socal though, so no rain...

I think it is a given that protecting mechanical moving parts from dust or water will prolong the lifespan and decrease odds of experiencing a problem.

That said, I have had the Kinekt seatpost with no protection for 6 years of all weather riding in Seattle and it still performs the same as day 1 as far as I can tell. Never once done any maintenance or even really cleaning as far as I can remember.

The Cane Creek EeSilk+ is designed for road and gravel, including mud. It does not come with a cover. However, the spindles ride on nylon bushings. A rebuild kit is available.

I suppose it depends on where you ride. I had to replace the bushings on my Kinekt after just 2 seasons. I ride in some very dusty locations and my LBS recommended the cover. That was 4 years ago and no trouble since. YMMV

I concur... My Suntour would develop a squeak every couple of hundred miles. Since covering the mech it's been silent.
