User Prairie Dog (?) uses an X5, I think. He makes some pretty cool vids.

Expensive, yes, but so is my camera gear.
I use the MIK rack system on my bike, so I bolted this MIK adapter plate to the bottom of the case:

The adapter locks to the bike and the case itself is also lockable. Won't stop a determined thief but it will keep someone from just walking off with it.
The case is shock resistant so if it comes off the bike or is dropped, the gear inside is protected.

The MIK system is really nice. The baseplate came on the Pinarello. If I wasn't already invested in the Topeak MTX, I would have adopted it. As it is, I had to adapt the Topeak baseplate to the SKS rack.

I also have a few Topeak bags that I had to adapt to the MIK system. Fairly easy to do with the MIK adapter above.

What do you see as the advantage of the MIK. Not seeing one in person, that lock looks like it can be defeated with an ice cream stick or at the very least a screwdriver.

I use Ortlieb's QL3.1 system on my Ortlieb Office Bag that I use for commuting, which seems similar to MIK. It is not for security, but makes it very easy and quick to attach and remove the bag from the bike. On my Back Roller bags, I just use the older QL2.1 system and it is not that much harder. Maybe only 2-3 seconds difference putting it on and taking both off is about the same effort. Just pull up on the handles of the bag. These are for side mount panniers though. I don't use a trunk bag anymore.

I bought it for it's size. With it's fold out panniers, it holds quite a bit more than the large Topeak bag. I don't see much difference in quality except the zippers aren't quite as good as the Topeak.

Yeah, the MIK lock is nothing special. It's recessed under the rack and requires a long key to release. Could be opened with a long thin screwdriver if you know how. Won't stop a determined thief but gives the casual ones a reason to move on to easier prey.

• My universal lens, a fast Tamron SP 28-75 mm f:2.8 zoom is almost fine. It is slightly damaged but could be fixed by the Tamron service in Poland. I only need some courage to ship it to Gdańsk by courier... Properly packed.

I think I could risk taking my camera with a single lens mounted on the harness even to a gravel race...

A 2014 photo taken with that lens outside a music club in Warsaw ten minutes to midnight. ISO 3200, 63 mm, f:2.8, 1/60 s. It was taken with my APS-C Pentax K-5.

I'd invest in a good pair of glasses before buying anymore lenses as the two pics you posted are far from anything I'd be proud of.
Then I'd take a hammer to that Pentax setup... but that's just me

Ahhh OK. Even the MTX don't have the best zippers. I'd never leave my camera or anything else valuable on the bike unattended so I'm not finding much value in having a lock. Then there's the rational that I'd rather they take the bag then damage the rack prying it off. But who knows what kinda thief you may encounter.
Is your Sony camera a 4/3 system?
I have an Olympus 4/3 and I find the lenses amazing. Haven't touched it in a while but it usually keeps my attention for 2-3 weeks out of the year when something interesting pops up. Been a long while since I took it on my bike.. probably before it was e. But when I did, I'd just take one lens. I have a nice padded backpack for the system.

Right. That's $189 I didn't need to spend since I already had a perfectly good MTX2.0 trunk bag. I did not know that I could have gotten a Topeak MIK adapter, but then I would have had the SKS rack/MIK baseplate/MIK Topeak adapter, right? That's one thing too much for me.

well Ive got the camera, but as expected the app wont install on any of the five phones Ive got in a drawer.

Ive gone right through every fix, disabling store and mcfee, using endless old versions.
This POS app is 1.1gb, yes just to register the camera.
I cant use it, a dead paperweight.

Im going to try Brians S25 tomorrow.
How can such a huge company just sit there with hardware being returned because of a garbage app, the gopros just work, no freakin app registration.

Huge threads on reddit going back years tearing into dji, the app on ios has 2 star rating.

These are the lives of many Russians today, and it is not a joke. First of all, the internet is being shut down in many Russian regions under the pretext it helps the Ukrainians coordinate the drone attacks. Secondly, the Russian government plans cutting down the access to the internet to all Russian citizens and replacing it with the network limited to Russia, and only running Russian apps. There are reports of many Russian people who cannot use their "smart" devices such as a refrigerator or a washing machine nowadays!

Regarding petrol, the Russian need to buy it yet, which is not easy but it has nothing to do with any app

Now, if you watch Itchy Boots videos then you should know only Chinese apps work in China and only the Chinese are allowed to buy petrol there
