Known Issues & Problems with Lectric eBikes Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

Prepaid return shipping, prepaid replacement boxes and full refunds for both trike2s. Lectric rocks!

So when their prices went back down, bought two Lectric ONEs.

OK - got the first Lectric ONE together. No rear brake at all - brake lever goes all the way to the handlebar without any resistance. Tried "pumping" it a number of times without any noticeable improvement.

Front brake rotor is warped. Seems like the brake gods don't want me to have any fun...

Lectric has asked for more video so I'll do that tomorrow.

Thank goodness for the folks who reported that the bearing covers on the front wheel like to come off with (as in get stuck in) the protective caps! Both did and it was a lot of fun getting them separated from the plastic so I could put them back on the wheel properly.

At their urging I'll go ahead and open the second ONE and put it together. Fingers crossed.

A quick test ride without battery gave a nice surprise - it rides just like a regular non-powered bike. None of the other ebikes felt this easy to pedal.

Wow, I think you’re doomed, Tom. Good luck.

This ONE is an interesting bike, combining the Pinion transmission and Gates belt with a rear hub drive. I’m not sure if there are others like it. Its uniqueness might be its Achilles heel.

The ONE is interesting. Like a videocamera equipped bird feeder I received a few years ago, it needed a firmware update right out of the box!

The rear brake self-corrected! Lectric's service person said give it a day, so when I tried it this morning it worked! He said if it had been upside down during shipping that might happen. I guess air got in, and then bled off once it was upright for some hours.

Now to see how it really performs!
