2015 2016 Turbo

I just posted this in the zombie thread. My Turbo S was purchased in November 2014. It's been dormant for about five years but I've recently added an Abus cafe lock and started using it again as an local errand and shopping bike. I don't trust it to go much beyond about 5 miles from home.

sorry to hear

My 2015 Turbo is now on show in the front window at Seacoast E-Bikes in Newington, NH. I traded it in in August 2022 for a Vado SL 5.0 EQ. When I traded it in it was in complete working condition with several significant upgrades. It had the 691Wh Turbo S battery with working bluetooth, the driveline had been upgraded to 11-speed Shimano with 11t-42t cassette, and the brakes had upgraded pads. It also had the factory rack/fender option.

I'm still riding my 2015 Turbo X, bought in September 2016. I ride it three or four times every week; now for over a decade. It's on it's third battery, with the second covered under warranty. Front disc brake brake replaced with a Shimano unit. Current issue is the Clean Cockpit Turbo Display has failed. it's my second unit and it looks like it it is not available anywhere. I would love to buy one from anyone anywhere. Currently, the bike works but is in full turbo mode at all times.

My display went bad too but I bought 2 extra units ahead of time. Was well worth the investment. Hope you can find one somewhere.

Here is the word from Specialized, confirmed with the folks at Performance Bicycle:
Hey Ray, unfortunately we don't have any of those laying around or able to be ordered. With that failing you wouldnt be able to set any of those parameters since the display is what controls all of those parts for the app and such. Finding a replacement is the only way to get that functioning again.
Hey Ryan here. What I believe Max is suggesting is looking third party with the part number you gave us. Ebay, Marketplace etc. We produce spare parts for x amount of time and unfortunately that is the case here.

It's disappointing that an otherwise well-functioning bike has to be junked because a single part is not available. On the plus side, I get to shop for a new e-bike.

The unfortunate part of this story is that essentially all parts of the "e" portion of this ebike are obsolete due to the fact that the Swiss company that produced these parts for Specialized went out of business a number of years ago.

I traded in my 2015 Turbo in 2022 in fully functional condition since I knew that parts were unavailable, and that the joystick controller was especially problematic.

Unfortunately, the display on die Schweich was sold back in August. August is also when Performance Bicycle last was able to order/receive the display.

It looks like I will be parting out the 2015 Turbo X. Battery is pretty new, the fancy 691 WH with working bluetooth and successful connection to the Specialized app. It shows 100% of original capacity and 50 charge cycles. Let me know it you or anyone you might know might be interested in the battery or any of the other parts such as brakes, lights, shock, etc.
