Hi, this is what I would do if I were you. I'm from the DC area and made my way to Seattle in 2021. I rode out to La Push, WA, for my formal start on the return home.
It sounds to me like your trip is WA to northern MN. Why don't you start by virtually exploring the Northern Tier?
The big advantage here is that there is ton of information on camping, restaurants, grocery, bike shops, elevation/terrain for planning purposes. These businesses cater to cyclists. You can find route diaries at Crazy Guy on a Bike? More adventure? You can customize excursions/route alternatives off the beaten path.
I would not make bike changes w/o planning the route first. I can tell you that when you're in the Mountain West, hotels that don't allow indoor charging is the least of your problems. I've seen 150-225 miles without a single source of electric or any services whatsoever. Starting with the Northern Tier as your backbone will eliminate a lot of surprises.
