Does anyone have a direction for me to start looking? I’ve looked on EBay but don’t want to end up with garbage. I also don’t want to overpay, when I can get a better price by shopping around.

Anyone know what size I should be looking for?

Does yours come with 700cx28 tires? Do you want tubeless?

I'd stay away from generic Chinese carbon wheels. I'd go for a clean used set from a name brand like Zipp, Reynolds, Vision, Roval, Mavic, etc. Make sure that the hubs have the proper through-axle size to match your frame, and that the hub supports whatever rotor mounting system yours uses (bolt-on, centerlock, etc.) to minimize caliper mounting changes.

Just a word of warning. Creo 1 had 12x148 mm Boost rear hub spacing, making it slightly non-standard as the standard size is 12x142 mm.

Higher models of Creo 1 came with Roval Rapide C 38 carbon wheels. The rear hub size is 12x142 mm. I know Specialized can provide a set of spacers to match the wheel to the 12x148 mm frame. Mike, please be careful. Why wouldn't you ask your Specialized LBS how to handle the matter?

Also, bear in mind you have to transfer the rear wheel magnet bracket onto the new wheel (I think it is Centerlock type).

Yes, asking my Specialized LBS is on my list, I just thought I’d ask here first. There’s another
LBS named Bicycle John’s that seems very squared away and I ride past that shop every time I go for a ride. I’ll stop in there and ask them.

Check out Ican wheels. High quality with tons of good reviews for inexpensive Chinese carbon. They have a gravel wheel they’ll set up with the hub spacing you need for the creo 1 - just email them with your needs. I have a set of aero plus 40’s for my BMC that I’m very happy with. They were $700 including shipping and arrived within a week from their U.S. warehouse.

Keep in mind that if you want to keep your old wheels intact you’ll need two rotors, a cassette, and two lockrings, one of which should be the specialized ring with the speed sensor magnet. Otherwise you can switch those parts over to the new wheels if you want.

That’s great info, thank you.
