When out carousing, getting ready to leave one joint and go to the next..."Let's blow this clambake".

It's a New England thig.
I adore BBQ fresh Cape Cod clams. A little sourdough toast, melted butter, with herbs is all you need. There is another, it is a sea bug that was once banned from prisons in Bean-Town.

I have a recreational shellfish license. Hardshell clams, softshell clams, and oysters. There's nothing like fresh shellfish that you dug yourself.

I saw the B-52's five times, all over New England.

Small world.

You lucky man! Been a fan of the group since 1980, I think. Of course, I've never seen them live.
Of the bands of my formative years, I could see Buzzcocks (with Pete Shelley still alive then), The Damned (the original line-up with Brian James still alive then), and I will see Sex Pistols with Frank Carter this August. I also had a totally rare chance to see Jean-Jacques Burnel playing the Stranglers together with a famous Polish band Republika back in 1986 (it is on YT, something spectacular!) All British bands, no American one.

Oh wait. I attended a gig of Nico (of Velvet Underground) in Wrocław back in 1986 (when she was still alive) but she was European.

One of photos I took on my second Buzzcocks concert.

Did New England prisoners really eat lobster in colonial times?

Legend has it the crustacean was once so plentiful — and held in such low esteem — that it was served as prison food. But is that true?

Just for fun, at the beginning of the pandemic in about March 2020, I made a joke bike. There was this ugly, heavy, orange, fat-folder, hub-motor, PAS, throttle-bike. First I removed the throttle. Then I removed the right crank and the PAS plastic wheel of magnets and reversed it, flipping its polarity. The bike would operate like a normal pedal bike, but would go full speed under power only when pedaled backwards. And you barely needed cadence when pedaling backwards.

Surely not the anthem rock lobsters had hoped for.
B-52's are from Athens GA (same as R.E.M). There was a disco down there with a TV screen showing random content. One of the scenes showed a lobster preparation for food. Schneider (a vegetarian) said 'A disco lobster? Let's make Rock Lobster!' 😊

The guitar work of Ricky Wilson is one in a kind!

Two favorite songs:

Athens was an underground highly curated college radio incubator.

Dick Dale used extra thick stings to make his near east-sounds extra-tight. @Catalyzt can explain more as a suffer and guitarist. The Zoroastrian music flow follows deep with natural patterns. These tap and reflect natural patterns. That is why it is moving. Waves. Surfing.

My friend just made the call to move the First Friday group ride from July, 4th to the 11th because of Independence day. I asked him if he thought of the implications of that on things such as clocks and cosmologically; it could really mess up the moon and tides.

Roll it over in your mind

The kiddie Steinway hook is classic

The main reason I went to see them so many times was not just the music, it was the crowd and the venues. They played a lot of small clubs in New England, where you could jam on the dance floor right at the edge of the stage. Every show was a huge party. We'd see people we'd met at the last show. I'd be wiped and soaked through with sweat on the way home.

Athens is also home to one of the best nighttime criteriums in the US, the Athens Twilight Criterium.

ICE wanted to raid Dodge Stadium today and got booted. Brown people have been speaking Spanish in LA since before there was a USA. I love it. Then a young singer sang Roosevelt's Spanish language National Anthem on No Kings Day and everyone cheered. A lot of brown people who speak Spanish play or love baseball. The home teem is showing some backbone. Let them go do raids in places like Indiana and Florida. There wouldn't be a clean hotel room, a clean dish, a clean towel or anything to eat in Orlando. Spanish in California is like French in Quebec.

we'll be the ones going over it.
The Berlin Wall was promoted as keeping out Western Corruption. Who got kept in? I suspect this is the wall memorial.

In Rapture, Blondie says, 'Now he even eats guitars', like licking an ecstatic kitten, and also plays them upside down and backwards behind his head. 'Where you goanna go Joe?' Says the Man from Mars.
