Specialized Vado sl 2 owners

Hi! You seem to be the first owner of a Vado SL 2 in this Forum. Could you tell your story including the pictures?

updates will be peddles, rear hub to 11 speed hub and group set to 11 speed linkglide deore xt
Do you own a Specialized Turbo Vado SL 2 6.0 Carbon?

There is one thing I cannot understand. Your e-bike has a premium 12-speed Shimano drivetrain. Why would you downgrade it to 11 speed?

Longevity, had the 12 speed on the vado sl5, chain would only last about 600 Miles and the cassette only about 1200, the linkglide chain last around 1500 Miles and the cassette over 8000 miles on the vado sl5

the linkglide chain last around 1500 Miles and the cassette over 8000 miles on the vado sl5
We'll see about that :)
Wouldn't it be wiser to ride the current drivetrain until it gets worn and only then replace the drivetrain?
In my experience the non-Link Glide chain on a Vado SL lasts for at least 1,000 miles. The Deore XT cassette is fully serviceable, so only individual sprockets need to be replaced when worn (not the entire cassette).

Vado 5.0 sl eq has about 15,600 miles on it
Creo sl 2 comp has over 6300 miles, just upload a pic on that forum

Was thinking about for 2 weeks. I like my SL 4.0 EQ from 2021 but the newer slightly more powerful and apparently more silent engine did it. Weight is about the same (the carbon frame offsets the higher wight of the battery and rack). Having been more opposed to the idea some time ago, what really made me change opinion was this comment from a recent US buyer in December:

Also did a design comparison between my current and my new bike:

The visual differences obviously being the thicker frame around the battery and a more upright riding position, thicker tires and more sturdier rack (different system - so will have to buy new bags or adapters).
Really looking forward to getting it delivered to the chosen nearby dealer for pickup. Then I'll have to sell my old one to make space :)

That burgundy red is really nice colour… I would chose that one as well but can’t look past the darker grey/black couloir for that anonymous look in the city (hopefully less noticeable for thieves..)

I saw the black one in a store in the Netherlands and found it looked much less nice in reality compared to what it looked like in the 2 longer reviews done with it on Youtube. Therefore chose the red one. I any case you'll need a good lock for the bike and I would not leave it unattended for long in a busy city, even though it's insured

Definitely would not keep a bike like that locked up un attended. I’m more worried about being followed and mugged which does happen unfortunately (London)

Please post pics and impressions when you can !

Six months in, I have yet to leave my SL 1 unattended — or even to get more than 10-15 ft from it when others are around, locked or not.

In fact, I usually have at least one hand on it, as the odds of me running down a fleeing bike snatcher these days are slim to none.

Maybe I'm being overly cautious. See a lot of unattended, unlocked bikes in my area. But the SL I own happens to be exactly the bike I want now, and it's become effectively irreplaceable.
