Surprised at all the excitement around this product. The best thing about it is it saves money and reduces weight for people who dont care about range. Happy with my choice to buy the SC2. If only it would get here already!
I thought it shifted seamlessly with total control of cadence and speed. As I mentioned elsewhere, the fancy CVT or Rohloff felt like having to relearn everything I know.
Congrats! I just ordered my SC2 GX HS Touring yesterday. Curious if you tried and disliked the derailleur if you were ok with shifting. It's an expensive upgrade to Rohloff.
so I tested the homage and frankly didn’t feel as “comfortable” as a more rigid supercharger with the thudbuster post. Pretty close to pulling the trigger as it feels pretty dreamy. For dirt paths and a few bumps now and then I’d rather have the two integrated batteries. The step thru on the...
I am considering a demo Homage for 6600 with the dual battery at the New Wheel. I’ve never ridden a full suspension bike. I may give it a spin this weekend.
Thanks @smorgasbord. I have been shopping at the new wheel Marin but did some test drives on the San Francisco hills which I cleared pretty well. I was actually more freaked by the weight of the bikes going down the SF hills. Glad I don’t live in the City. I really do like the double integrated...
I just learned today that a national seashore near me only allows Class 1 bikes on its trails. That’s a real issue for me since that would take away one of my reasons for an ebike. It might be worth sacrificing a few extra miles. Most people enjoy the spedelec just to comfortably get to 22-23...
@dblhelix are you suggesting going all the way and getting the Rohloff to ensure making the big hills? If I'm riding to the coast, I will be tackling serious hills. 1400-1800'.
Thanks everyone. The Homage is not a dual battery (though you can add one on the outside i assume) and has the older motor. I do like the step through though (similar to the Nevo but with full suspension). I know when I test-drove a Vario I was sacrificing something. A bit like AT vs a stick...
I'm exhausted from the research and the limited bike options with high quality, servicing in the SF bay area, and not some glaring missing component or questionable reviews. I prefer a low(er) step as a younger senior who doesn't want to have challenges down the road in getting on/off ebikes...
