Calipers That Will Not Adjust Straight

@PCeBiker
Came up with a hack... Suspension seatpost back on and no issues in the first 200mi.

Added a 27.2 to 33.9 seatpost shim

then mounted the rack half on the shim and half on the tapered top portion of the seatpost that's about 34mm diameter.
The quick release wasn't long enough so I swapped it out with a bolt. Hasn't moved and now I have the extra few mm of travel in the rear suspension with no bottoming out.

I actually just bought an exta long tool bag that I want to attach to my lower downtube,..

My only issue is attaching it.
I don’t want to use velcro straps around the whole down tube and battery, because that would make swapping batteries a big PITA.

So, I intend to glue it on with Shoe Goo, and maybe a bunch of little screws into the half round aluminum tube?
I'm a bit worried about the wires inside that tube, but I think that I can drill and tap some holes or maybe I can fish these small pan head bolts through from the inside of the tube and use nuts on the outside? (I'd have to use a visegrip or cut a slot in the thread for a flathead screwdriver, because there's no way of getting an Allen key inside the tube.)

Maybe I can drill and tap a few holes and thread these tiny pan head bolts in from the outside?

The bolt threads aren't sharp, so they shouldn't cut into any wires inside the tube?

Just gluing it in place is probably all that's needed, but it just seems wrong to me.

I should just glue it in place and see how it works, then add bolts if it starts to peel off or something?
I over think stuff Way Too much. 😀

The bag is designed to fit a long handled air pump.
My shock pump is 13" long.

Actually, I've already got two velcro straps around the battery.
I could just feed the straps through the bag as well as gluing the bag to the tube, so the bag does fall off when I undo the battery strap to swap batteries ?

Forget shoe goo, it may look good initially but eventually will let go. Looks to me like a job for some rivnuts but I can't tell how your downtube is set up. Maybe have to put a piece in the tool bag for reinforcement, something plastic that would conform to the curve.

Yeah I wouldn't glue it. I assume with the battery removed you have access to the inner side of the tube and can use some bolts thru.
I also like using a piece of plastic in the bag as more support. For example I have some old landscape edging material about 1/16th that I'd trim to fit. It's flexible yet strong and easy to cut.

Are there scenarios where you need a shock pump in the middle of a ride on flat country roads? Genuine question...

The shock pump Works Awesome as a regular tire pump with its long throw handle.

I didn't want to spend 7 days and nights pumping up a fat tire with that tiny hand pump. 😁

The shock pump pumps to 60 PSI with ease, and it's Fast !!

You Really Have To Work It to get over 200 PSI to pump up a shock though.

With the shock pump, I can adjust my front forks, or my rear shock or fill a 2.8" X 27.5" tire in Ten Seconds Flat !!

(well,.. not really, but I did manage to fill my 2.8" X 27.5" tire to ~10 PSI in 5 minutes which is pretty good.

If I only had the little pump, I'd need to carry a headlight (cuz it'll be dark by the time my tire's pumped up), and maybe rations, and band aids for the blisters on my hands for the 3 hour tire pumping session, 😁)
