Crazy Walmart mid drive deal $349

Seems ignorance is also boorish.
This bike wasn't produced to sell at this price and this is clearly a clearance sale. I believe these are 2021 left overs after the entire market became saturated following the prior covid scarcity. This bike looks perfectly suited for the casual and short distance commuter with a simple efficient design that is UL Listed.
And just like when Yamaha decided to unload their stagnant inventory at 70% off... the bikes didn't instantly turn into cheap crap
No it's not for the Strava d_bag to clock elevation gain and then masturbate looking at his trip odometer. But then the vast majority of bike riders do not fall into this category.
Funny thing is... with it's Japanese torque sensing mid_drive and 20mph top assist, it'll leave EU bikers watching its rear rack disappearing in the distance. 🙃

CHEAP suspension, cheap brake components, cheap gears, "Advanced Suspension" LOL ROFL what they mean is it has "some" what make?
Read what others say about the brand
That's a totally different bike...but if you buy it thinking it's a capable trail bike, I have a bridge to sell you.
Yes it's all entry level hardware... But just because it's that and inexpensive doesn't make it crap and fills the casual user niche. You do need to know what it is you are buying and there are some that you are better off passing on.
I have an entry level bike from 2008 that I DIY'd electric in 2020. Since doing so, 12mi without an issue.
I don't compare my Corvette to a Hyundai as they're made to fill two totally different needs. So reviews bashing it with unrealistic expectations really don't mean much.
You should plan on giving the bike a once over.. Probably not a bad idea any bike you buy.

I bought a couple of Huffy Oslo's on clearance a few years ago and had to admit Huffy is a master of building cheap bikes. With a new controller, gearing, and a brake up grade they became really capable little folders. The Oslo's, each costing what this mid-drive cost, ate a couple of hundred to get there. This is a much better ebike but still has some needs: first a decent seat, then a suspension seat post, a brake and tire upgrade. Then it's a $700 maybe decent ebike.

The thing is, I have converted several bikes to ebikes. My most successful conversion dollar wise was built of free bike parts, battery, and motor. I bought a rim and spokes, a controller kit, and new tires. It cost me $350 to convert, sold it for $300. So, $350 for a complete working mid-drive ebike seems a bargain to me, albeit in need of some upgrades. With the US's current tariff policy these things might never show up on our shores again at such a low price, and maybe I could sell these upgraded for $700-800.
(Must try to be careful not to convince myself to buy a few more.)

Though, this might be such a great deal that I am tempted to buy several more. So, I am asking all EBR forum members for your help. Please buy some of these things, so I won't be able!
I'm not in a select location, too far from the warehouse.. Everytime I look, the $349 grey bike is out of stock. The white one has dropped in price from $699 to $549. Still too high.

Probably a good idea to buy another just for parts and a second battery...

Probably should....
What gets me is this bike is comparable to this 2009 $2200 dollar bike that I paid $250 for last month:

Though this cheapo mid-drive doesn't compete with the Giant Twist in fit or finish , it does out perform it, and at less than a tenth of the cost in inflation adjusted dollars. So it just seems amazing to me.

This thing is almost a bargain just for the frame and motor. My concern, though, is with it's quill stemmed threaded steerer tube. If it was fitted for a threadless steerer tube I would be tempted to buy more of these.
At $350 for a capable mid-drive in a frame, that's unheard of!
But that quill stem thing keeps this from being a universal donor for me. Maybe someone can talk up quill stems. Afterall, they work just fine in moderate powered ebikes.

If I hadn't bought the Yamaha this past spring, I might have jumped on the Hyper. But I just can't justify a third ebike.

Besides, I'd have to build a stable out back and put the beasts in the stalls. 🤪

Three is just getting started.
I myself will need a bike barn if this insanity continues.
$350 delivered for a functional mid-drive ebike. Can't quite wrap my head around that.

I'd guess in part the motivation is the batteries. Having them in storage that long with no qualified person able to check on them is a huge liability.
They're supposedly UL listed and typically ship at the proper storage voltage so you should be ok.

Way back someone gave me a brand new IBM laptop that had been sitting in a file cabinet for 5 years. I got another 5 years out of that battery and the laptop was used 24/7 to run a home automation program.

Hyper 700c Class 1 Japanese 250w mid drive motor with 75nm torque. Torque sensor. Clearance sale $349. I was surprised at the performance of the 36v system. Ramps up to 20mph promptly, no issues with performance other than 20mph limit and no throttle. The grey color is just a simple gray and is not the ugly bluish color in one of the pictures!
Specs not on Walmart listing:
Vinka DS20 display
PAS 0-5, Walk mode, Trip odometer, Battery status indicator, Speedometer.
Vinka C20 Motor
250w continuous 85nm torque
7 speed freewheel First gear is 34t mega range, second 24t, seventh 14t.
10ah battery (listing says 7ah)
Don't worry about the 20 mile range stated in the listing, I'm 215lbs flat grades, with 8 overpasses and have to run max PSA @ 20 MPH for it to run out of battery in 20 miles + or minus depending on wind...
Be ready to unbox, partial assemble and sort out some issues. I had to tru the front wheel and adjust the too tight wheel bearings. Clean the brake pads and rotors.
nave tried the 700C hub drive hyper and was pleasantly surprised, thought I needed more power( was easy to return) turns out it will give you assist even at stall.great beginner ebike at this price was well worth it.
