I have considered this. It seems potentially value for "topping off". I haven't considered a trailer vs pannier. I have heard that even cloudy skies cast decrease the value of this?

Plus some extra weight, expense, and bulk to manage . Might be the only option if you are far from the grid though.

Solar power real life. I gather you might get 100WH in an hour at mid day with his panels. My 2 amp charger can do 100WH in an hour too, Enough for 6-8 miles for most people.

Carrying enough solar to make a difference will probably be nearly canceled out by weight and added drag; unless you plan to park for a bunch of time.

We designed support for distance riding with a van with 440 watts of panels on the roof and 400 AHr of batteries inside. 2 couples; 3 riding, 1 driving in rotation is the plan.

I wouldnt charge an ebike battery in a hotel, or airbnb.

This comes from the fact only two of eight e-bikes you own have safe batteries

There is no such thing as a truly safe, reliable lithium battery yet. Even though Chargeride's may be particularly edgy .

Probably the way most EBR members would handle it, myself included. But I wouldn't even try to ride that kind of distance, even if the law was on my trail.

There is no such thing as a truly safe, reliable lithium battery yet. Even though Chargeride's may be particularly edgy .

I have owned as many as 4 big Specialized batteries. I have owned a main SL battery as well as 4 Range Extenders as well. I also own two 36 and two 48 V Specialized chargers. A single big battery (the oldest one) developed a short circuit in a single cell a year ago. The charger and the BMS reacted immediately by shutting the charging off and producing error messages. The battery was just warm at a single spot until it got completely discharged and then I could pass it for utilization.

Not sure whether cheap Chinese batteries of Chargeride are that safe.

Ive only got one, it was 350 quid seven years ago, Samsung cells,.
I have a dead Levo battery, the Haibike battery, a good Levo battery and an Em3V 15ah.
The frankenstein batteries have been disposed of.

I also wonder about the issues of pulling up to the side of a restaurant, or McD's --poaching of an exterior outlet?

Boom! and that's if you can find one that works. McDonalds, an empty outside outlet or a cafe is much easier to find.

It does not work Besides, you would occupy a precious place. Charging e-bike batteries takes hours while the same for EV is the matter of minutes.

Yes, admittedly EV stations are fewer and farther between. But they are there.

My charger will work on 110 - 240v. All you need is the correct receptacle for your area, and a charger that will take the voltage (like mine).

That is an attitude as opposed to an electrical fact or law. Nice pivot.
I'm not insinuating that you should argue with those in cars that need it, as they are the originally intended users.
All I'm saying is that you CAN do it.
There are ALWAYS open chargers near me. That won't be the case everywhere of course.
If it is illegal in Poland, I'd understand.

I havn't thought of this. I can't tell if you're pulling my leg or if this is legit. I will look into it. Guessing there could be an issue with the charger accepting 220V?
