Hypotheticals - would you replace your R&M with another R&M??

So I was riding my SuperCharger2 home in the rain tonight and drivers were crazy - narrowly avoided a few near crashes.

It got me thinking, if my R&M was stolen / destroyed in an accident or for some other reason no longer available to me, would I replace it?

So a couple of questions to spark some discussion:

  1. Would you replace your R&M with another R&M?
  2. If so, would you get the same model or a different model R&M?
  3. If not, what sort of bike / eBike would you replace it with?

I’ve got my own ideas but will see how the thread kicks off first!

Cheers

Sam
Certainly yes but with another model. Maybe the Charger4 GT Rolhoff HS with the PowerMore. I tried a 2017 Stromer ST2 and it was a beast despite his weak condition (cracking bottom bracket, strange handlebar orientation, strange font fork behavior during braking). The Stromer I need for my daily commute is the ST3 Pinion (I live in a very hilly area and the classic transmission for the ST3 will not be enough) but the price is so high ! I just want an e-bike with a belt right now.

It is so good R&M makes High Speed e-bikes, and you live in the country that makes no fuss about S-Pedelecs :)

Yes. It’s great that Switzerland had a good law for high speed e-bikes. That means this type of transportation is a real alternative to cars. We can use bike lanes but we need to cut the motor off on those who are forbidden for mopeds.

I have a 2023 Delite (HS Rohloff), and I'd buy another one! Maybe the red one tho ;)
The only thing I'm changing on it is the tires - it came with Johnny Watts knobblies and after about 15 months of riding them, I'm putting Continental Urbans on it. I don't ride anywhere nasty enough to justify knobblies, plus they're a bit noisy.

Update: Just finished installing the Continentals and took a 4Km ride around the neighborhood. Waaaayyyy better!

How is that Delite working for you? I am trying to decide between a Delite4 GT Rohloff HS 56cm and a Charger4 GT Rohloff HS 53cm. Be great to hear your experience with the Delite.

My mid sized, dual battery, Rholoff E-14 Homage has done 10k with just a belt, gearbox oil & brake pads change - perfect long distance gravel bike but now for Sale in Kent / Birmingham UK. Have already ordered a Homage Pinion replacement (so many design improvements!).

Answering the OP, I would def buy another R&M but the new Delite/Superdelite design language is fuuuuuggggly! Looks more like the nicer ride-share bikes in Europe than anything rugged like the '21MY I have now. I guess thats either me getting older or the world changing in general.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the new looks either.
I helped my Dad look for a new eBike after his Specialized Como 4 was stolen recently.
He originally liekd the look of the Tern GSD but didn't like how it rode. He looked at a couple of the Benno eBikes before he settled on a R&M MultiCharger Mixte HS Rohloff ... same bike as my wife, but her's is an Enviolo/non-HS. I can;'t wait to gve it a ride as my biggest gripe wtih my SC2 Enviolo HS is the lack of gears at the top end.

I love my Rohloff w/ HS motor, installing the newer trigger-shifter today!
