I'm not sure this subject has a thread but here goes. In addition to the well know RadPower and Aventon Pace bikes, I found this one today, and they look quite good in the under $1500 price range. All with 500 watt geared Hub motors, 48v batteries and throttles.

Lots of bikes in that market, Voltbike and Biktrix are both 750 watt I believe ( from memory ).

I was looking for a review on the 700 series as well, but I think it is still too new. Looking forward to one because I am considering the 700 for my first bike. the Aventon 500 seems to be winning my vote right know is there anything else to consider that compares to the 500 in the same price range?

Yes Feliz, I've seen Voltbike and Biktrix on the the "Discussion by Brand" forums. I think they are both Canadian and have very active users on EBR. I don't know why, but ride1up, does not have a Brand forum, so I had never heard of them until I happened upon a user review on YouTube. They look very competitive in this segment, so I was hoping to get some feedback from current owners of the bikes.

Mejello, I don't think the 700 is available till Christmas but from the few YouTube videos I've seen on the 500, it's definitely on my radar. I called Kevin, the owner, and he said they will have EBR reviews on both the 500 and 700 in December.

I tried the Aventon 500 pace and really liked it for the most part. The deal killer for me was the no throttle from zero (you have to pedal one rev to activate the throttle) and the abrupt accel to 12 mph in PAS level 1 which has been widely reported. I talked to Luis at Aventon support and he said they have no plans to change either. The ride1up (strange name) appears to have all the positives of the Aventon Pace 500 and none of the problems I mentioned. Check them out.
