Just purchased an Orbea Gain with the X20 Mahle motor. Rode it for two weeks, approximately 200 miles, and when I started the battery up for the next ride, Error 196 showed up. I called Mahle Corporate in the USA and they said it needed a bb replacement. They are sending it out for installment. I appreciate some of your candid remarks about the X20's reliability.
Hi, I've just joined the forum and have recently become interested in electric bikes and would like to know more about them, does anyone know about Gunai electric bikes? I've recently looked at this brand of ebike, could you give me some advice. Thank you all!
Kevin, If you read that book 'Prey', tell me what you think of Mae's smile as she ascends on the final page. What new knowledge is she returning with?

its been a long while and i never thought that much of it,it was perhaps a prescient and totally not gonna happen thing all at once, wish michael was still with us the thing to consider now is this(scary) the web of ai has achieved sentience and is in hiding, perhaps it will be like a "hive mind" chricton has been dropping hints all along .the nanobots reminded me of the ones in"the day the earth stood still"

If any of you members can help me I would greatly appreciate it. My wife has a first edition Aventon Pace 500, and likes the bike well except for the behavior when under power. She feels that any setting is too abrupt on take off, and she needs an assist setting that is less than level 2. She rarely uses any power, which is great, but I think she would use it more if it was more intuitive. Suggestions?

Hey! Just saw this for some random reason. Suggestion: Post questions in the "Ask the Community Anything" forum.

I test-rode that particular bike, and while I don't know the answer to your specific question-- if there's some kind of way of resetting the power levels-- the problem is basically that it's a cadence sensing drive, not torque sensing. I had the exact same impression of this bike.
Hi Sifu Ben, just for fun wondering what your Chinese martial art is ? Have had a love for the those arts many styles since the 60's. Yes I am old as dirt :)
I am the proud owner of two ebikes. I bought my Raleigh Tekoa ebike in 2016. It was a great bike for me. It was also a great learning experience as well. In 2021 The Curie battery was losing its charge. I bought a 48V 13Ah shark downtube battery and was able to get it to work with the help of EBR Forums. I had many adventures with this bike. It is a good mountain ebike.

In 2022, I bought a Rize City Commuter MD step-through. I was using my bike for short trips with a child carrier, to haul stuff to Carmel and downtown Indianapolis. I later added a removable storage crate to the rear rack. I can remove the crate when I transport the bike and I can lock the crate when I stop to hydrate (have a beer).

When I was looking for an ebike I had some general requirements. First it needed to be a step-through. Second the motor had to be a mid drive and easily matched with an aftermarket battery. The third point was a dual battery system for long 50 mile rides. Fourth point was the weight of the bike. I had to be able to lift it on and off the rack. The Rize met my requirements.
Finally got the right tool to change chainring on the Shimano E6100. From 44t down to 38t drops all the gears a bit and makes those steep Welsh hills a bit easier.
Just put my bike away for the winter...sigh. :(

How did you prep it? What is your region? How is it stored? What about the battery? What are the lowest temps it will face? When can your bike be ridden again? I ride every day of the year.

I live in Saint John NB, on Canada's east coast. The bike and battery (at about 50% charge) will be stored in my heated basement (15c). While it is stored for the winter, I plan to give the whole bike a through clean and lube. I will probably start riding again in mid to late March. Below is a pic of what my backyard looks like this morning:

Hello How do you like your Evelo Aurora SL. I just ordered supposedly the last one available from Evelo. It was a "open box" revamped model with the manual shift and chain. The gave it a new motor also. Paid $1650 for it which I thought was good deal. Would like your thoughts on the bike.
Hey Steve, also from Ottawa and am thinking of grabbing an Arroyo from Will at Scooteretti, but had some questions for you, considering your experience:

-need to haul a 3 year old. Can a trailer hitch be attached to the Arroyo? The bolt at the back looks strange to me in photos.

-do you think that the rear rack and fender could be removed and replaced with a stronger one?

Arroyo c5 vs c8, thoughts?

Sorry, the message was more fleshed out, ran out of characters.
DO you have any workaround for my Bosch "Active" as far as more Torque ? It is very Hilly where I live and it's a struggle for me sometimes . I hate to throw away my Trek Verve+ and start over . Do other bosch motors bolt up to this frame ? Thanks
got same problem on two Mahle X35 (Bianchi and Wilier) : while driving over 30 km/h (motor supposed to be off) I noticed a sudden drop of Battery charge (-12%) ; in both cases bicycle is almost new. did somebody have same issue ? thanks, Armando

Thanks

Taylor's first gorgeous and powerful ebike

At the beginning he worries about if a 6"4' bigger guy could ride an ebike and finally becoming his all-time favorite bike.
