Hi all,

Last winter the motor on my Haibaike Sduro Hardseven (year 2016-17) broke down and I was unable to repair it. So I´m looking into buying the newer PW-X2 motor (current motor is PW-X).

The display is integrated into the handlebar, but looks like it´s LCD-X. Not sure if the display unit supports the newer motor.

Can anyone here tell me if this is a possible swap? For what I have gathered the motor is about the same size, little bit narrower and weighs less but same bolt locations.

If you're in the N. America or Mexico, I urge that you look into eBike Motor Repair before abandoning your PW-X. Michael may be able to tell you if the PX-X2 system will work on your old Sduro...

I just sent my 2017 Haibike Allmtn's Bosch CX to them, and got a complete overhaul for less than half the price of a replacement motor. Here's a detailed posting on my experience.

Regarding your display, it looks like Haibike used a third-party display for that system (see screen shot from this article below - none of the Yamaha-supplied displays look anything like yours). You'll probably need to check with Haibike as to whether it's compatible with the PW-X2, but my hunch is that it's not.

Good luck - I hope you'll post here again to share what you did!
