Y-Pedal question

I have a Y-pedal electric / pedal bike. It had been sitting for a couple of years and I decided to charge it one day. I charged it for about 12 + hours and when I rode it It was slow and it appeared the battery drained pretty fast. The bike is about 20 years old I guess. Did I over charge the battery? Please help.

You have a 20 year old battery? I'm surprised it even took any charge. Time for a new one!

Are these SLA batteries?
