I have been debating between the Tern GSD and the Xtracycle RFA for the past few weeks now. I ended up ordering the Tern GSD S00 but I was curious what other members think about the RFA. Have any of you rode it yet? I see a few bike shops out west have them for demo already. no demos are available in my region.
I really like the option of being able to choose the Speed vs. CX motor as well as single or dual batteries. Furthermore, I really like the 24" wheels. I am not too excited about being able to "convert" the bicycle from sport to cargo mode. I would simply configure it for cargo and leave it be.
Ultimately, my decision to buy the Tern was simply that it has been proven and the accessories are readily available. The RFA won't be available for a few months and honestly I couldn't wait
As a business professional that bikes every day i needed an electric bicycle as soon as possible. Being able to bike to and from work as well as visit clients during the day and not be a sweaty mess is what i look forward to most.
I just ordered my GSD last weekend. My LBS can't guarantee a delivery date just yet. If it gets pushed out too far I will cancel the order and wait for the RFA release. (My wife dreads the day I being researching electric bicycle again. It consumes me to say the least lol.)
