So our XP Lite rear rack that was suppose to ship in mid-june is now delayed until the end of July. I would greatly appreciate any ideas of bags forum members may have that work well on the XP/XP Lite. It looks like the cables would be in the way for an outside mounted handlebar bag, but how about one mounted on the inside that would sit below the display? Or a good frame bag? Something that would remove fairly easy that wouldn’t interfere with the fold. Keep those suggestions coming because I would love to hear what works best for you. Well, for those interested, I‘ve found a solution for a front mounted bag using a front mount Brompton bracket and Rhinowalk bag designed for the Brompton. It’s pretty slick…the bag just clicks right into the mount for easy on-off. I have now cancelled my two XP Lite rear racks that were on back order until the end of July. No longer do I need the XP Lite rear racks which would have only added additional weight to the bike. I‘ve attached some pictures.

Hey Balsa, you can get the bag and Brompton bracket at AliExpress. The mounting plate that attaches to the bike is a free sample of laminate flooring that you can pick up at Home Depot/Lowes. I just cut it down to the right size to mount to the bike with four stainless steel screws. It makes for a solid mount because it’s just the right thickness. I suppose you could use a piece of wood, but the laminate flooring provides for a waterproof installation, you can choose from different colors, and you won’t have to finish it. I attached the Brompton bracket to the mounting plate by drilling two holes into the plate and voila, done! Here are the links to the bag/Brompton bracket:

Balsa, the two concerns I had about this set-up were the cables at the handlebars getting in the way of the bag and interfering with the steering; the second thing was the Brompton bracket interfering with the headlight. I’ve solved the first issue by using a velcro strap around the top of the handlebar stem in order to pull in the straps. It works great and it also doesn’t interfere with the handlebar fold.
I haven’t worked on the light issue yet. The top of the light hits the bottom of the Brompton bracket, but I think I may be able to reverse the light bracket and bend it to clear the Brompton bracket. I may lose some of the aim adjustability of the light, but I’m not too concerned about that since I don’t really ride at night much. I am attaching a few more pictures, including a picture of the velcro strap and how the cables clear the bag.

A frame bag will respond to your need. You can consider using this NDakter frame bag. It’s lightweight and perfect for phone keys and a bike tool for the trail.
