Which E-bike has the easiest flat-tire change?

Ok, so everyone talks about speed and distance, bottle bosses, and hills..

I wanna know which bike isnt gonna make me cry when I get a flat when it is dark, raining, and I'm late for my own wedding....

I think some hub motor bikes come with rear quick releases but in general mid-drives are what you want. They are no harder to change a flat on than a regular bike (except for the added weight.)

Thank you... wasn't thinking about mid drives, and you are absolutely correct. Anyone know of any easy-change hub motors?

Somebody here posted about this a week or so ago, which certainly seems like a hell of a lot easier way to change a rear tube. I plan on getting one for each of our bikes and see what happens

Some (if not all) Easy Motion hub motor bikes have a rear quick release. My Cross Current has slotted washers on the rear wheel which have to be lined up perfectly to reinstall the wheel. So even with the quick release it's going to be harder to reinstall the rear wheel with a hub motor. I would actually say using a wrench to loosen the bolts is the easiest part of the whole operation. If easy tube changes are important to you look for a mid drive bike with a torque sensor.

Most of the mid-drives would be easiest to repair a flat. Through axles on hub driven bikes can make it easier and Q-R frees you from having to carry a very large wrench.

Personally I wouldn't make a purchase decision based on the less than 1% of it's use. Flat tires are relatively simple and easy to fix on any ebike. It may not be quick and darkness, cold or rain will add to an already frustrating experience. That would be true for any bike. I think it's best to learn how to and practice flat repair in your driveway. You could even do it on a rainy, dark evening.

Get a good ebike, you like and can afford. Add some Schwalbe ebike rated, puncture resistant tires and tubes and just enjoy the other 99.8% of the time

Most hub motors require: 1) unplugging 1 electrical connection 2) having a wrench to remove the bolted axle instead of a quick release.

Tip: carry a spare tube and swap it in. Patch tubes at home at your leisure.

Flat tires suck cuz they happen at the worst times it seems, but Ebikes aren't really much/if any worse.
