Six years ago, I found my wife's "Herman's Hermits Greatest Hits" album cover and Peter Noone signed it after a concert. He was amazed that it was an original over 50 years old and not a reprint.
Peter Noone also formed a band called The Tremblers in 1980 and put out a decent record. They disbanded the following year.

The vinyl and the equipment needed just takes up too much space for me. I have more music on my phone than most people have in their record collections. Couple that with a good Bluetooth speaker and it will literally fit in my pocket, to listen to anywhere, not to mention how easy it is to find old obscure music. I'm a minimalist so, you know.

Depends on what your looking for. I'd bet I have 50 albums of bands you cannot find online, plus the album art and the collecting is also fun.

If they are taken care of, they don't. My brother has a 1956 Chrysler wagon that has a record player in the dash called a Highway Hifi.

I saw one of those in a friend's dad's huge Chrysler. Impressive, but not a good idea with our washed out roads. But maybe the turnpikes back then were still smooth?

Yeah, it used to be fun shopping for albums as well. Long ago.

The Hiway Hi-Fi doesn't play standard records. The records it uses are one sided, have deeper grooves and I believe it plays slower. It is a concept that did not last long....maybe 2 yrs. Like the 4-Track or the mini disk.
