Hi , I believe the new ST1 only has Bluetooth connectivity and uses the Omni BT whereas the ST2, ST3 & ST5 can use Bluetooth but are also connected through the 3G cellphone network.
See this:
Ah, I finally found it (and confirming your response @Petropoliskhan !)
What are the differences between the Stromer OMNI app and the Stromer OMNI BT app? Differences between OMNI app and OMNI BT app
The Stromer OMNI BT app is only available with the Stromer ST1 (from model year 2019, with OMNI Interface B), while the Stromer OMNI app is compatible with all models with OMNI Interface (black/white) or OMNI Interface C (color).
The Stromer OMNI BT app communicates directly with the Stromer via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and thus even works when the cell network reception is poor. The Stromer must therefore always be within Bluetooth range of the smartphone to use the app.
Due to the limited connectivity of the Stromer ST1, functions such as localization or the statistics are not available in the Stromer OMNI BT app.
I wasn't aware there are two differents Apps; I thought only the OMNI itself is different.
From my point of view, the "Smartlock" (which means the keyless lock/unlock of the bike) is part of the new ST1. Keyless means the opening of the battery case by pressing a smart button (instead with a key).
@bluecat - there are definitely two different apps. I downloaded both of them. I found that Stromer USA / my dealer had transferred ownership of the used ST2S I bought to the Omni app automatically. The Omni BT app had an ability to "Add a new bike", but that didn't work for me. Once I realized that the Omni BT app was really meant for a current-get ST1, I deleted it.
Since I have an older ST2S, the keyless feature does not exist.
However, my Omni C display upgrade did give me the Smartlock ability. It appears to be functioning properly. I'm a bit curious about the "Distance" setting that can be adjusted on that feature. I'm wondering if it provides some ability to change the sensitivity of how close / far your phone must be to unlock the bike, but I can't find any documentation on that feature.
