What if Elon Musk built an ebike?

Better to ask if Apple would.

Musk only builds things that a) reinforce 1950s style suburbia, b) are capable of (ludicrously) high speeds and/or c) are far from the most efficient, practical solution available (electric cars vs bikes for mass ownership, home vs industrial solar, etc).

Lol

If Apple made an e-bike, the iBike, it would be reliable, powered by the sun, but only ride on 5% of the roads; you’d have to install iTunes to turn it on, even if you won't use it; you can only use Apple maps; it would only come in two colors, black for the merely well to do and polished titanium for the Kardashians; nothing would be user serviceable; when the battery gets down to 50%, the bike would slow down as a convenience to the user; if anything goes wrong, you’ll need an appointment with the Genius Mechanic; it would only have one pedal; you’d have to press the power button and the horn simultaneously to turn it off; if you press the power button and the left brake at the same time, it will take a selfie; and lastly, you can’t use the iBike while you’re riding, unless you click on, "I"m the passenger."

I think the phrase "The Tesla of e-bikes" makes about as much sense as the phrase "The IBM of puppies."

As for Mr. Musk... whatever criticisms you can direct at him, he at least understands that before you can succeed or fail you have to at least try. I greatly respect the fact that he isn't afraid of making mistakes, and when he realizes he is making a mistake he is quick to cut his losses and move onto something else.

We have been busy contacting our own customers but someone suggested that I comment on this thread.

First of all, Tesla is NOT even close to making an E-bike. All the videos you see on YouTube are done by some savvy YouTubers trying to gain attention and subscribers using Tesla's brand name/identity but if you parse through all the links, you will see Tesla E-bike is far from the truth. Even with all their might and huge Gigafactory resources, they don't have enough batteries to build Roadsters, Semi Trucks, and Cyber Trucks and they have no plans to get into the E-bike market anytime soon.
If you look at the YouTube channel posted above, you will notice that channel is putting out outrageous stories every other day. From Elon announcing Nuclear reactors, to phones, Motorcycles and Bikes. All made up stories.
I hope people do not fall prey to fake news stories.

You should have let it ferment for a few days for some good laughs before deflating. 🙃

Your first clue should have been none turning handlebars. Add to that the bike having auto pilot ! Since you have to lean into most turns on a bike, a bike that takes control of the turns would simply throw the rider off !
