Voltbike Elegant does not turn on unless...

Hi everyone - hoping someone has some advice for me about a weird power button issue. I’ve been riding my voltbike elegant for about 6 months now — was working great until one day the power button stopped working. Pressing it does not turn on the bike. However, if I remove the battery and re-insert it, all of a sudden the bike starts, and the power button works to scroll through the display and everything.

Any ideas for what could be preventing the power button from starting the bike? Also, I don’t really know where to start with regard to taking apart the bike to diagnose the issue - so any links or advice about that would also be appreciated!

Weak/low battery or something else "weak", preventing it from getting full voltage to controller. Could be bad contact somewhere - not a complete disconnect, just bad. You may laugh, but my TV remote exhibits same symptoms when battery is getting low. Re-inserting it helps, - until it gets really low.

Thanks for the replies!

I sent voltbike a couple of messages through the website but no response yet.

I think a bad connection maybe caused by the cold weather / water might have been responsible, as Alex said.

The weird thing is, after leaving the bike indoors for a couple of days, the power button has started working again! We’ll see if the issue has gone away for good...

Hi Ed7. We did reply to your email this morning. Initially I thought the issue could be faulty controller unit inside the frame. However after reading this post I start thinking that the problem could be in your LCD screen keypad. We can send you replacement LCD screen. Please reply back to our email with your current address.
