Vampire Drain on eBikes

As a long-time Tesla owner vampire drain has always been a concern. In the early days we would lose 7-10 miles a night in range from drain on the battery due to the BMS thermal management. Obviously, with a Tesla there's a great deal more going on with many systems requiring battery power to keep the car connected and available. Tesla has their act together now and I can leave my car for three or four days and maybe lose a couple of miles of range at the most.

It's been exactly one week since I took my Juiced CCX for a ride. Due to travel to the East Coast as well as lousy rainy weather it's been sitting in our garage for a week. In Southern California our garage gets down to around 50F at night and probably 70F in the day.

I noted my battery voltage on my last ride: 49.9V and thought it would be interesting to power on the bike 7 days later and see if there was any vampire drain.

I turned on the battery and controller and the voltage shows as an even 50.0V. So no battery drain whatsoever for the bike to sit unused for a week. Makes me wonder how long I could leave it before seeing some degradation. Obviously if I left it for 6 months there'd be something - but I'll never have an opportunity to test it out.

This might be expected by most of you but to me this was an unexpected surprise.

You wont see any difference for at least a month. Probably closer to 3 months for a 1% drop. Also they drop a little faster in hot weather versus cold.
