Used Pedego Comfort Cruiser Question

I have the chance to pick up a Pedego Comfort Cruiser for $200 because it's missing the battery. I am not familiar with this brand and have a few questions.

How much would a replacement battery cost? I checked on the Pedego website and couldn't find batteries for sale.

Also, from what I have gathered looking at the Pedego site, this particular bike has a 350W motor (the owner thinks its a 500W, but doesn't have any pics currently of the motor), and takes a 36V battery. Am I right on these specs?

Anything else I should look at before buying this bike?

How old is the bike? The specs for the current 2020 model state a 350 watt motor:

Pedego batteries are hard to find right now but if you keep searching, you will eventually find one. In any case, you can expect to pay $500 to $700 for a new battery depending on capacity. Lower cost rebuilt batteries are available such as this one on eBay:
This one is available on eBay: https://www.ebay.com/i/274569541099...QshoetIDxBRII9wwXJA9hcm1QsX1te8xoCceYQAvD_BwE

It isn't clear if this is listing is for a complete battery or just the rebuild cost. Check before buying.

I am going to go take a look at the bike sometime in the next week or so. It is orange, so I think it's an older model. I will find out.

The other question is do I have to use a Pedego battery? Can I use just a regular ebike battery? I haven't been able to find a lot about connectors, etc online. I thought Rad was bad with proprietary stuff but Pedego has even less information out there.

The Pedego battery connectors are also proprietary. You could use another 36V battery but the wiring could be an issue. Also, it is unlikely another battery would fit in the case on the bike.

Really? Pictures? Usually, connectors can be easily changed! I would REALLY like to see them!
The Pedego charging connector is a standard 3 pin XLR connector but the main power connector on the rectangular Pedego batteries use this 4 blade configuration:

The 4 male blade connectors are located inside the rear of the battery box on the bike and are hard to access.

That is an accessible part. Not a proprietary case. See Shanshan cases(Hailong maker)

Update: I called the local Pedego dealer today and talked with one of the mechanics. He was pretty stoked to talk on the phone and we are going to see if the seller is willing to bring it in to the shop so he can hook it up to a battery and make sure everything else is working okay. Battery is gonna run me anywhere from $600-1000 depending on what kind I get. He also said that lost batteries aren't a sign of stolen bikes usually....it's when people call and ask for a battery charger that sets off the spidey senses.

An interesting site. Thanks for the link. However, I don't see a direct replacement case for the Pedego form factor. It is possible one of those listed would fit but without the details, it would be hard to tell for sure.
I have found many replacement cases and parts by searching through the case listings. It's a real PIA as it takes quite some time. However, that connection isn't proprietary. I'm sorry I just haven't the motivation to sort it for users. I am convinced they use a ShanShan case.
