Ultra newb looking for first ebike

I had a Raleigh with a Sturmey-Archer 3 speed hub back in the late 60s.

So did I and my brother as well... My dad always believed in buying good quality. They were great bikes.. I have no idea what Raleigh's reputation is now though. I hope it's not the same a Schwinn

And so did I! Actually it was 1958 and I was barely into my teens. That was my first escape machine.

Ahh, the Raleigh 3 speed. Forgot about that one! Most of the guys in the hood rode Schwinn, however, we would see a Raleigh here and there, but not as popular at that time. I think Raleigh has been around a long time like Schwinn. Schwinn used to be in Chicago, then relocated operations to Colorado.

I wonder which was considered higher quality back then, Schwinn or Raleigh... I have a Schwinn network 3.0 hybrid bike now but it's schwinn in name only. I paid $169 for it new. Believe it or not it has trigger shifters but the suspension fork is a total joke
