Turbo Vado 3

I thought Dave you read the "flame war" part.
A novelty e-bike?
See the date :D

Everything ever invented or introduced is a novelty, until it's not...

Fancy a person such as PedalUma visits your Pinarello thread and -- as he was doing very often in the past -- shows an unrelated picture of one of his conversion bikes. He does not stop there. In next posts, he brags his contraption is a way more powerful than your dream e-bike. Eventually, he creates a thread by title "Smoking Pinarellos" with an obvious reference to pot. How could you show the man the door? It has all already happened but related to Vados. Written by a man who temporarily worked as a Specialized tech but was unable to maintain the company's Vado he was entrusted with. So what would you do Stomp if same happened to your own thread?
Show me an example of where I did something like that.

If you have a problem with @PedalUma, then take it up with him, or ignore him altogether. As far as I am concerned, he can visit the Pinarello forum all he wants to, same as you.

You seem to fancy yourself as the "protector" of the "Specialized brand" on this forum. If that makes you happy, go for it. However, squashing conversation because you disagree with someone else's opinion is not part of any definition of "netiquette" that I've ever seen. Maybe it's different in Poland than in the US. If I have said something about a Specialized product that was factually incorrect, you have every right to correct me, and you have in the past, several times. I welcome that, and I bet others do as well. I have done the same with you. This is completely different than someone offering an opinion counter to yours and shutting it down, based on the fact that the topic heading references Specialized. Calling brands like AMFLOW or other brands that use DJI drive units "novelty bikes" is ignoring the realities of today's market. You are smarter than that.

You were 100% dead on up until the very last sentence... at which point you went

A brand thread means we discuss if the Vado 3 is good or bad but we do not compare apples from one brand to oranges from another.

If one wanted to compare e-bikes from different brands, the General forum is a proper place for that.

Gentlemen Gentlemen please. This is not what I visit this forum for!
Exactly. Everything from and including post #43 should be deleted from this thread. Alas, we have dysfunctional administration here.

Vado 3 is a heavy commuter bike, having an 850 W motor and fully equipped. The Chinese e-bike shown in post #43 is a low power, small battery, lightweight and unequipped fitness e-bike. How one can even compare such different e-bikes? It is the same as someone saying "Don't buy a Vado, buy a Canyon Grizzle Onfly instead!" Completely different e-bikes.

Interesting interview by Ben Delaney with the XDS/X Lab project's manager Patrick Pan at their booth at Sea Otter for this US launch.

Along with the 2 ebikes (Vado equiv & SL equiv) they have a whole range of bikes. He wouldn't say which WT team bikes (Spesh, Trek, Colnago Cervelo Canyon etc) are built by XDS in China but said as an indicator, 8 stages in last years TdF were won by XDS bikes. That's crazy. XDS under the hood obviously.

XDS by volume is now the world's largest bike company. It reminds me of back when Giant went public having built a high percentage of Western brand bikes for years and decided it was time to let everyone know, hence the name "Giant". (King Liu founder of Giant passed away in February. at the Taipei bike show last month they displayed his own personal bike, still with spare tubes under saddle etc. Very poignant. )

Fascinating interview. Not least that this range of X Lab bikes; Gravel, Road and E Bike are approx half the price of rivals and they discuss why this is/how they can do this.

Calm confident fella. Be good to see some in-depth reviews of the e bikes as they start selling.
