Re trolling = Stefan I post interesting industry developments. Like with the Avinox launch last week, this XDS launch looks important because of the scale of this company and their pricing. I post it not because I'm itching to buy one as you assume - as a fan boy yourself - but because I like bikes, I've ridden all kind of bikes, I find the industry ups and downs fascinating, and I'm curious about new developments and I figure people on here will be too. Whether it's these massive Chinese inroads to the bike industry, like with EVs - a new Industrial Revolution it seems - or say TQs tiny motors creating a Creo/Vado SL power equivalent but at under 10Kg , or a working motor gear box or just anything I feel might be of interest on here.

All we have YouTube and the internet news. You are not posting interesting industry developments. You are spamming. In a wrong thread.
It is not any secret knowledge to read about, say, the new Avinox or another Chinese e-bike. If you were a person who would test new developments, you would be the expert. You are not.

Please tell me: Was Pinion.MGU perhaps not the Greatest? Because it is certainly not the Latest now Salsa Tributary?

Novelty e-bikes on EBR Forum such as Pinion.MGU, Salsa Tributary or DJU Avinox have own threads in the General section.
Our friend the Apostle felt a real anger when I pointed out he was usually first to talk about the Latest & Greatest in such threads but he never bought one, keeping all anecdotal and based on public articles and videos. The fact he is now presenting a new Chinese e-bike in this thread as a "competition" to the new Vado is pure trolling and malice.

Specialized section threads are for Specialized e-bikes. This specific thread is for Vado 3. I could say I know a thing or two about internet fora as I was on the social media since 1998 Notable international Forums for me were Pentax Forums and BassTalk.

For instance, Stomp, I do not come to Bosch e-bike forums and bomb them with competitive disinformation. On contrary. Once Catalyzt could not make head or tail with Bosch Assist Modes, so I helped with a thread explaining most Bosch Assist Modes based on an excellent video of dr-ebike. You might think I'm anti-Bosch. No, I'm not. I rode a Bosch E-Bike in Ireland and was happy. One of my closest friends rides a Bosch E-Bike on our group rides, and it is a very good e-bike. I even find Bosch durable and reliable. The only reason I would not buy a Bosch e-bike is the lack of ANT+...

What is strange, the Apostle owns and rides a Specialized but acts like he were the brand enemy. Well, he's bought a Specialized. He won't buy any the Latest & Greatest he so advertises.

As an outsider, I have to side with Stefan. As one who does not frequent the forums much, I rely on notifications to see whether I should log in and read threads that I subscribe to (i.e., I am interested in the new Vado so I stop what I am doing and log in when I get an e-mail about it). Certainly, in this context it is more useful to me to have the threads stay "topic" specific.

That being said, I did watch the "off topic" videos which I probably would never have seen except for them being in this thread. My only question is what is that awful clicking.......

What you are doing now Stomp is a "flame war". (You might not be aware what it is because of your age and limited Internet experience). This thread is about Specialized Turbo Vado 3 and only about this e-bike. While I dislike the direction taken by Specialized, there will certainly be happy new commuter users. We discuss the Vado 3 here.

Now, the Apostle enters. Out of pure malice, he presents a Chinese e-bike, which net price is low, and the specifications look good. No one here owns that e-bike, so the action of the Apostle is a pure Schopenhauer's "diversion".

Then, you enter with your defence of the Apostle and personally against me. The thread is destroyed. It burns like some part of Southern California during the drought. It is what we, seasoned internauts call the "flame war".

Pinion.MGU or Salsa Tributary or DJI Avinox are not new things. On contrary, they are quite old and were praised during their birth by the Apostle. No EBR member owns such an e-bike. Which proves the Latest and Greatest must go through the trial of time disregarding how revolutionary they seemed when announced.

This thread is about Specialized Turbo Vado version 3 and only about this e-bike. As the Original Poster I have a say about it (another internet thing you seem not to understand). For instance, you have a say what could be posted (or not) in your Pinarello thread.

P.S. Once, the Apostle praised a Polish bike brand Rondo for its revolutionary design. Since then, Rondo went belly up. I wonder why.

I think because there are only a handful of people active on this site, the threads sometimes blend together into the overall conversation. So off topic posts happen. It's like getting a small group of people together in a room to celebrate someone's birthday. They are also going to talk about other things besides the birthday because they know everyone in the room. It's not a perfect analogy and it does help for finding information later if threads stay on topic, but it is not the end of the world if they don't.

I was not "attacking" you, Stefan. I was trying to determine what makes you think that a thread with "Specialized" in the name can only contain references to Specialized products. Maybe it's you with the limited internet experience . It's called a conversation. Comparison is part of making conversation. I have never once on here (to the best of my knowledge, but I'm old, as you say, so maybe I forgot, due to my advanced dementia) disparaged Specialized products in any way. Suggesting that a different product may be a better fit for someone is not disparaging Specialized products. You are smart enough, and conversant in English enough, to know that.

Until the Admin informs me that conversation in brand-specific forums can only contain references to that brand, I'm just going to carry on like most people do here. Comparisons, in context, make for better conversation.

There's something called netiquette.

It is just behaving yourself based on simple decency, which protects communities and individuals, and helps finding the right information. It is for some reason there are brand fora on EBR.

Fancy a person such as PedalUma visits your Pinarello thread and -- as he was doing very often in the past -- shows an unrelated picture of one of his conversion bikes. He does not stop there. In next posts, he brags his contraption is a way more powerful than your dream e-bike. Eventually, he creates a thread by title "Smoking Pinarellos" with an obvious reference to pot. How could you show the man the door? It has all already happened but related to Vados. Written by a man who temporarily worked as a Specialized tech but was unable to maintain the company's Vado he was entrusted with. So what would you do Stomp if same happened to your own thread?
