Turbo Updates

Hello everyone, I have recently purchased a used Turbo, Its been working great for me.
I ordered another charger from my local specialized dealer and its doesn't work with the bike. The front light flashes very fast and it doesn't charge. The local rep says its an update that needs to be done to the bike and its going to cost 30 or more bucks to do and take about a day.

Has anyone ever paid to update their turbo? And does anyone know how to get a SBC-C04 charger to work with a SBC-B02 battery without going to the dealer?

My bike currently charges with the SBC-c02 (fat with fins) charger perfectly fine.

Thanks,

Check the 2nd charger you got to see if it charges the battery "off the bike". And yes I have paid for firmware updates. If the dealer can do it and knows what he/she is doing, I'd recommend it.

I have both the chargers you mention and they work fine on and off my MY 15 Turbo. If there is an update available you should take it and be willing to pay for an out of warranty discretionary service.

With luck they'll brick your battery and have to give you a new one, eh Doug?

If the local shop sold you that charger and represented it as suitable to the job, it's their responsibility to make it work or take it back. I like my local shop but if they tried to charge me for a firmware upgrade I'd pretty much throw a fit. It's not your fault that the program is broken.

My local shop provided me with the C04 charger as original equipment on my bike, and they updated the battery firmware as needed until it worked properly, which by the way it still does not work perfectly. Sometimes I have to plug and unplug the charger multiple times before it starts charging, or I have to turn the bike on and off while plugged in to make it work.
