Thumb throttle

Anyone found a thumb throttle for the 18 Rover without cutting and splicing. Seems the pins out of the twist are male and most of the ones out there are female. This is the cable to the controller

I use the 1859 Northwest thumb throttle attachment for $20: https://1859-northwest.myshopify.com/products/e-bike-thumb-throttle-attachment

I have them on my two 2016 Radrovers and 2018 Radcity Step-thru. It is a half moon shaped molded plastic with velcro on the backside to hold in place. Zero issues with it slipping, you can adjust the position in seconds for different riders, easy to adjust the amount of power needed, can use your thumb just as easy as your palm to apply power, and it doesn't get in the way of the gear shift. It is really the best of both worlds of having a twist and thumb throttle advantages with this attachment.

I have one of those also but was wondering if anyone had found a regular thumb throttle that works. The reason behind it then I can swap out grips without cutting them to fit

That's a Higo connector. You can pretty much find higo connectors to convert any male to female. You might have to do some soldering but you'll end up with a barrel connector to your liking (like a 3pin male to male) to use without cutting or splicing on your controller cable or throttle cable. Like this one: https://www.e-bike-technologies.de/images/stories/virtuemart/product/HIGO-AMM-5_11.jpg

Thanks. I sent off an email to them and will see what happens. It seems when I asked Rad I was told they don't have any kind of thumb throttle

I think you're going to find Rad isn't going to be too keen when it comes to changing or modifying ANY or their electrical or electronics, for any reason.

You'll need to be careful matching those 3 wires correctly.
