Throttle problem

Hi. I have a Chinese Jinya brand which I have just fitted with a new throttle which appears to be identical to the one I am replacing. The problem is it gives full power with very little throttle at takeoff and is dangerous to ride, especially for a beginner like me. Is there some adjustments in the controller to reduce takeoff power. Any advise would be much appreciated

Looks can be deceiving. Visual comparison does not work well with choosing electrical components. From what I understand, throttles work between 0 and 5v. Evidently the new one only works on the high end, or the controller is not happy with it.

Hi, thanks for your reply. The bike runs on 48V battery. It has a twist hand throttle only, no PAS. Unfortunately the controller label is in Chinese but have attached a photo anyway, it might help. Glad to supply any further info needed. The old throttle was damaged in an accident by the previous owner and the magnet was detached. I put the magnet back in the throttle where I thought it may go, attached the spring and fitted it back on the bike. Unfortunately it would not operate the motor. The throttle was operational before the accident. Any ideas?

New throttle. I always have a backup throttle in my spares box. I hate waiting for a $10 part.

Hi guys Re my last post about throttle problem, I realised the problem is the pas and not the throttle. You live and learn! It kicks in full power at slow pedal speed. I may just disconnect it for a safer ride. Thanks again for your input
