we just hit 2k on our bosch powered tandem. timed it a bit bad it was getting dark could not get mount hood in the pic. the bike has a great headlight it worked well on the dark ride home on the unlighted path. My wife is blind and I found her a cool jersey that I think has a blind stick figure on. not sure I got it from Australia

40 miles a day will enhance your lung oxygen capacity and muscle strength significantly.
Wishing you great health and a long life..
its wearing me out I am getting about 240 miles a week. but my body does not work normally and I can only eat protien with a few veggies a week. so I think I am using more energy then I have. I think its because I ave been pushing harder on my commutes using less assist. Plus according to garmin i am burning about 1000 calories a day and I cant eat a extra 1000 a day. if I am burning that much.

Seriously, bump the assist up. At least you and your wife are getting out a lot, but you are probably carrying most of the load. It's not a competition, and you have a motor, so use it @fooferdoggie.

ya its my commute where I have been using it. so I need to stop that. I have 109 miles so far this week its a lot. the tandem we get to 19 or so and the assist cuts off so that cant be changed.

Yeah. It's really tough for you folks that can't tolerate carbs to get enough of whatever " quick burn " type calories bikers need. IIRC, you carry an extra battery on the tandem, and so you can use the motor on high. Burn battery not fat or muscle, maybe.

with my body It is so wacky I don't know if I get all the energy out of my food to begin with. like I was maintaining my weight (a little high) eating about 2400 calories a day. then I starred riding. acceding to garmin or my bike I am burins about 1000 calories a day riding but I cant eat a extra 1000 calories I don't think. I am just not that hungry. goigmn to not push it on my commutes for awhile I think I hit my max allowed exercise. I think part of it too is I now go to work on Saturdays because I cant go to the movies and my wife works so thats adding another 20 miles of commuting a week.
