Tesla million mile battery

It's not as impressive as it sounds.

You have to remember that the Creo is roughly half the weight of most ebikes that most on here ride. So that improves the efficiency, then the bike significantly more aero so that improves the efficiency a lot. To put it in perspective when I don't use Smart Control and just use the lowest setting I'm using about 2 to 2.5 wh/km. A lot lower than what a typical rider uses.

On top of that the group I've been riding with recently goes pretty slow. We average about 21-23 km/hr. - If I were to go with my friends who were formerly Cat 3 racers, then the battery would get used a whole lot more. In fact I only got one ride in with them before lockdown and the Creo wasn't great on that ride. In Canada the speed limiter kicks in at 32 km/hr. so there were a few times that someone put down the hammer and then it was all me but of course now I'm riding a bike that's about 50% heavier than the bikes they're on.

I suppose the impressive part is how efficient the Creo is relative to other ebikes. So be impressed with the bike, but not me.

Shaun, I just re-read your post, you lost 50 lbs riding and you're on track to lose another 50! Wow, now that is actually impressive.

Thanks for sharing! I have not ventured into adding a true road bike to my ebike fleet just yet...that's a 2021 plan I figure...and I know gents like yourself in the few threads I have stumbled through already will help guide me to the best choices to consider.

Appreciate the insight!

The first 50 was 'easy' compared to what the next 50 will be is what I know from past attempts and lots of current research. I'm thankful for ebikes as it has allowed me to ride, well anywhere, even 10-20km long 5-8% grade climbs in my area - all the while allowing me to have a controlled workout for hours on end, while enjoying it. It's been a life changer.

And yes back to the battery front! Look forward to Ravi's reply when he has time.

Shaun, happy to answer any questions and share any knowledge I have. A lot of that knowledge has been gained here.

Out of curiousity, what part of Canada are you in? If you're in the lower mainland of BC, maybe we can meet up for a ride.

I appreciate the invite! I have a couple best friends in B.C. and when life changes for us again in the future, I hope to travel out to see them and bring an ebike with me - summer 2021 perhaps (fingers crossed). By then I hope to be through my 315 to 215lb journey and be able to keep up with you! ;-)

I'm a couple hours north of Toronto. Spoiled with multiple Rail Trails, quiet highways between farm towns and when I want to climb the Niagara Escarpment gives us long long 5-8% grades - super fun going down, lots of work for me and the motor going up.
