I've never needed any additional sensors. Treat and ride it right and there's no issue.

Oh I'm not worried about it... it's just that it's been rainy here and I'm bored and want take something apart.

I wish my Bafang chainring adapter would arrive, then I could do my drive train replacement.
I've already drilled my frame and snaked some of the wires inside.
