Supercommuter 7

I am about to purchase trek supercommuter, first ebike. I am an average cyclist that because of age and a 3 year old lab I have lost some spark. Hoping the ebike gets me going again. For ten years I rode commuting over 100 miles a week. I discovered this .forum doing research for my purchase. Unfortunately I have to wait another week for the bike to get here.

Welcome, please check in after you've put some miles on your Trek Super Commuter7. All of the reviews I've read have given it very high marks.

I just got an awesome deal on a 2018 redux for $2500. The only thing is it didn’t have the little cover for the charging port of the battery. I’ll ask dealer but where can you get replacements in case this gets lost. Bike is awesome and I saved big on cost over the super commuter at almost $4000

Thanks for the tip about Luna cycle. This is a cool site to look at. Honestly I test rode the super commuter 8 at the store and I thought it was very noisy and I like looking to see what gear I’m in, the SC8 did not have a show the gears it was all feel. I am just thrilled with this redux. Trek bikes are overpriced but they are good quality. I have a hybrid FX that’s 12 years old with about 10,000 miles on it. Had it overhauled 4years ago and it still rides nice.

I would go with the Trek if i were you. They have 500$ off now . Raleigh is okay, but you need as best quality as possible in an ebike. 1.5k is not much in long term if you consider an ebike will easily last 3-4years or much longer. I have over 4k miles on 2 of my ebikes. Both Bh easy motion. That is also a very sould choice you should take a look at. Same level of Trek if not better but less pricey.
You will love the e universe, i’m also an ex road commuter. That is a prehistoroic era for me. E bike every time , all the time.

Enjoying my Raleigh Redux IE so much. Thanks to this site for me learning so much about ebikes during the three weeks I shopped. Also, because I was checking this forum the bike shop that came up on this site had this great deal on this bike. I saved $$$. I almost bought the supercomputer 7 class 1 and instead got this class 3 bike. The components are identical except for the Brose motor and not getting the shift detection. I stayed to my budget for an excellent entry into ebikes.
