Stromer ST1x - How to set wheel size?

Hi there,

My new Stromer consistently reports around 10% too high of a speed and I suspect the Omni C has the wrong wheel size.

Does anybody know how to change it?

There was a way for cheating (= increase Vmax) on very early Stromer with the LCD-display. No way (and no need) to set anything on the OMNI. 47 km/h instead of real 45km/h is within the limits, 50km/h would be far above.

Two solutions:

  • Your reference device is not accurate enough?
  • In the dealer settings, your 26" ST1x is seen as a new 27½" ST1. Ask your dealer about this, IMHO this should be impossible, but who knows?

Thanks Bluecat. My reference is a garmin GPS and both the realtime speed and the average after a trip is around 10% off. I consider the garmin GPS (especially the average after a long trip) fairly accurate.

However this is the problem: When the Omni show 45 km/h I'm only doing around 41 km/h on the Garmin. I assume this mean that the Omni shuts off assist (and I can tell by the assistance bar on the omni going almost all the way down) before I actually do 45 km/h which means that if it was correctly calibrated I would be able to actually get assistance to 45 km/h which I don't get now.

I contacted Stromer about the issue, and they said I could contact my LBS about it - but LBS is not responding (and moved the shop from retail to web).

Any input still greatly appreciated. Thanks!

This is a completely different situation!

The programming of the fade-out at top speed was often changed. I'm not aware of the current status in the US. Compare the release installed on your ST1x with the contemporary release listed on the factory website.

Thanks - I'm on the latest firmware it seem. Still would like the speedometer to precisely calibrated. If it reports too high numbers, the fade-out at top speed will be premature.
