Storing Bikes

How do people store their bikes? I have two bikes that I don't ride very often and they are taking up garage space. I'm considering hauling them up to the attic for long term storage. Both bikes have sentimental value (one was my grandfather's bike and the other was my dad's) so I don't want to sell them or donate them, yet. Am I crazy to put them in the attic? Thanks!

Be sure to remove the battery for long term storage... they do not like temperature extremes.

They're traditional bikes, no batteries. Which is why I don't ride them and need you store them.

I've used this for years for storage in the garage. I also use in the bed of my pickup truck, with tie downs, for transport to the trails.

Heat in the attic won't be good for leather seats or rubber parts.

Is there an area in the garage you don't frequent much, where you wouldn't bang your head on them while hanging upside down?

That's a good point. Maybe I'll just leave them in the garage.
