Speed sensor insulation rubbed off - what repair tape?

On my way into work I heard a high pitched friction whine coming from somewhere on the bike, when I got to work I discovered my BBS01 speed sensor had rotated in its zip tie to face against the tire and it has rubbed through the rubber insulation. I was thinking when I get home of wrapping duct tape around the hole but would Wire Loom Harness Adhesive Cloth Fabric Tape be better?

I find silicon seal holds longer than tape for small insulation bare spots. Sold at family dollar store for example. Dab an inch in either direction from the spot for good adhesion. Tape usually peels in a year. This includes the $3 a roll 3M pro grade electrical tape.
